How to unlock the End career with 1 000 points achievement in Top Spin 2 - Definitive Guide

In your first season aim to win all the minors and possibly a major or two, concentrate on training and max out power,forehand, backhand, speed and precision. In your second season continue to train and distribute the stars as desired (serve, stamina and reflexes id recommend personally) but aim to win all the majors and any "special" matches such as the tennis academy naming one etc, this will give you silver and gold stars.
When you max out 60 bronze stars you will get an invitation from a billionaire to a private match, its vs your rival and winning it is almost essential to maxing out all your stars in gold. By the end of your second season or beginning of your third you should have all gold stars and be well prepared to compete in slams and masters. Keep entering and winning minors and majors as well as the slams and masters.

If youre losing a match or training session quit to dashboard BEFORE the game can autosave.

At the end of every season youll be presented with your career points up to that point, hopefully by the end of the 4th or 5th 1000 will have been earned and you can sim to the end of the fifth season.

As DenXD pointed out, playing as female also makes it much easier both as you dont have to play as many sets and or have to face Federer.

To add as a note; Play as Female. You don't have to play best of 5 sets in Grand Slams. Saves some time doing this achievement :)

Has anyone ever reached rank #1 but not received the 200 career points? I'm not good enough to win Slams so without those points, I don't think I can hit 1000.

One more piece of advice.... I got the idea reading solutions for an other game, but INSTEAD of dashboarding out, just sign out. The game can not continue and therefore can not autosave. After the splash warning about the game can not continue, you will be prompted back to the main menu and then sign back in and go from there. Save a TON of time.

Good sound advice, it's fine being male I got 1200 by the end of my 3rd season. Federer is a total pushover, I found Moya and Coria to be annoying opponents, I think its the way you assign your stars, I topped forehand, backhand, power and speed, and made sure I had at least two gold stars on everything else. Really not as difficult as you first think.

I would strongly advise AGAINST simming too much of your final season. At least in my case, my player kept losing a lot of simmed matches. You have to make sure to stay above the 1000 points! Simming the early rounds of a tournament is usually safe, though.

Overall I actually got bored after about season 3, because it was too easy. Just sim carefully and grind it out.

Thumb's up from me. Thanks for pointing out the fact on winning the special events was important. I wasn't sure if they were better to win them or to just skip them to focus on Masters and Slams instead. Answered my one concern about this game in order to complete it in the most time efficient way.

did you totally complete the season by playing in the last totally pointless match against your rival? It should unlock after that, if not i dont know what to tell you mate, its not a fun achievement to go for again.

Career really sucks.

Wow, only 366! I don't know how it's so low by then, but I remember that I had to win at least a few slams, if I was close to the end and about to lose I quit to dashboard. I worked out this method of beating really hard opponents by just getting into position very early and using cn_A until I had enough room to try a special hit. Not really much more I can tell you, I got this first attempt no bother, but I did win every event, and dashboarded if I was close to losing.

A few tips for those trying to achieve this in 2016 on the female tour. Kuznetsova and Amelie Moresmo are in my opinion the hardest to beat so here's how to deal with them. Kuznetsova usually serves on the corner and wide out, so you might wanna press X on the line, and instantly run on the other side. Now for the first three points she might not go into god mode, but when she will (Usually when you're at 40) USE your momentum shot passive slice to get an easy return. If all of this fails, use Y at the service return, wait a bit and run on the other side when she's about to hit it again. Very often Kuznetsova hits a straight shot back on the line thats why you rather wait. Now for Moresmo, LOB is your best friend. When she's in god mode, she will usually run at the net. So let her come, when she's close don't return more than 2 shots, and hit lob. 8 times out of 10 it works. If it dosen't it's either because she ran back to smash it, or because your lob got out. Usually if you're Adv-40 it might go out cause the game does it on purpose :) Et voila!.

As tennis games go it's pretty good, good balanced gameplay, there are much worse out there believe me. I think you're just a little frustrated at this achievement, but with a bit practice it really isn't that bad and you may even start to enjoy it. smile

frustrating yes...balanced not a chance...I don't even know where your getting that from.Ive been rank 2nd and 3rd now for 2 seasons.Cant catch no1 as I cant beat venus who is ranked 4th even though I'm gold stars.Beat the number 1 player twice but cant win any slams and this career takes so long and cant even get this 1000 points in it.

Keep trying bud, I got it right at the end of my 3rd season, if you can win your games consistently you should get there, but don't sim too much. Good luck

end of 4th season had 793 points.Became rank 1.won every minor,major and master but no slams.I need 200 points in season 5 which is doable if I can only win slams.Its so dam difficult as I always face rank 2 or 4 in semi.I will keep trying.Thank you for your help and advice. I listened to some very bad advice on x360forum which obviously people lied saying I didn't need to win slams.

ok.so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but its pointless now.Just finished the season with 900 points.All because I CANNOT win any slams,hell I cant get to the final.The AI is too fast and its not like I'm close they wipe the floor with me.Your talking about wining slams when u only have bronze stars and I cant even get there with max gold.Spent well too long on this awful game,over 50+ hours in the career.Skill setting is just to high.This game is a complete joke to have a career that long with THAT many tornaments and not be able to get 1000 unless I'm fucking insanely skilled.I won over 50 tournaments in my 5 season career.....I guess that's shit for any average tennis player.

I would definitely not consider myself skilled at tennis games, and especially not Top spin; I had some trouble beating the very best players at first and often broke out in sweats trying to win.

I just figured out a certain way to play that generally won most points, it's hard to explain, and a very long time ago, but the key was predicting which side the opponent was going to and getting there early, something like 3 out of 5 times I guessed right and once you got in that 'zone' you are guaranteed to win the point.

The only other important thing is never to lose a championship and continue, always go to dashboard if you're going to lose and try the tournament again. You often get different opponents and they can be much easier to beat with your style of character.

I got this achievement today,finally.Had to load up an earlier save from season 4 and win 1 slam.Took me many tries.I ended the 5th season with only 1 slam win but got more points in season 5 than before even though I lost both masters.Weird but don't care,finished with 1019 points.I was rank number 1 for most of season 5 when I wasn't before.Anyway big thanks to DEEVIUS for advice on here,certainly helped.

My opponent after maxing out 60 bronze medals is just unbeatable. Not even gonna win one point against her, in 15+ tries now.

For anyone who is still going for this below are my career points for each season.
Season 1 - 78
Season 2 - 317
Season 3 - 449 Hit #1 in this season
Season 4 - 116 Lots of simming won all minors and majors.
Season 5 - 74 Lots of simming won a couple minors and majors.

The points shown at the end of each season are your overall points you do not need to add any numbers together.

Good luck and make sure you pick a female character it makes the completion much easier.

Nothing beats the endless joy of spending all Sunday afternoon simming my max stat player against rank 131 players that consistently double-donut me in a minor tournament, just to get those last 50 points in my career 😅

EDIT: In case this helps anyone, I got 107 points in my last year, by:

* Winning all Minors
* Winning all Majors
* Winning 2 Masters
* Winning the first two matches of each Slam and the other Masters

FYI, it's safe to assume that if you sim against a licensed player, you're likely to lose badly. You may also need to play against some lower ranked players to keep your wins up because the game seems to super power some players in some tournaments. Shout out to the fake player ranked in the mid-100s in a minor who was substantially harder to beat than Sharapova or Williams (I won 3-0 3-0 vs Williams 10 of 11 matches).

First off i would like to warn people about the points system in this game. It is not related to the leaderboard in anyway. Dont think oh i have enough points the leaderboard says so. It has nothing to do with that. The points system is a season based points system and you can only check your points after each season.

Now on to the training make sure you have max stars in speed,power,forehand,backhand,at least 6 to 7 in spin,5 in focus,and stamina.

The cpu is very beatable with the stategy i came up with you can usually beat most opponents using the safe shot a button however against guys like Coria you must use the slice shot its your friend when they hit it to you always use the slice shot x button towards the sides at an angle once they have to stretch to get to it they are open for th e safe shot. Once you come across people that like to camp the net you must use the lob y button to beat them.

You must win as many tournaments as you can up to the 5th season once you get to the 5th season try to win all the tournaments up to Wimbelton then just enter the games and sim game by game if you are winning your chances of winning by simming go up.

To do this, you need to win every tournament in at least 2.5 years worth of play, or a combination of that amount during your 5 years. I suggest training hard to get every bronze star possible in the first 1.5 years, then winning tournaments to win silver/gold stars. After a while you should be able to sim to the semis or finals of most tournaments, which will cut down the time it takes to get this done. I had 1,064 points after my 4th year with this method, then simmed all of year 5 to get the achievement. You can not lose Career Points, but your total is only shown once at the end of every year, during the recap stats page. Thanks to The Pants Party from the forums for this new description.
