How to unlock the Reach #1 World Rank in career achievement in Top Spin 2 - Definitive Guide

This achievement is best combined with the end career with 1000 points one as while youre getting 1000 points you will inevitably be world number one.

In your first season aim to win all the minors and possibly a major or two, concentrate on training and max out power, forehand, backhand, speed and precision. In your second season continue to train and distribute the stars as desired (serve, stamina and reflexes id recommend personally) but aim to win all the majors and any "special" matches such as the tennis academy naming one etc, this will give you silver and gold stars.
When you max out 60 bronze stars you will get an invitation from a billionaire to a private match, its vs your rival and winning it is almost essential to maxing out all your stars in gold. By the end of your second season or beginning of your third you should have all gold stars and be well prepared to compete in slams and masters. Keep entering and winning minors and majors as well as the slams and masters.

If youre losing a match or training session quit to dashboard BEFORE the game can autosave.

This should pop in your third season if you win at least 3 masters and 2 slams, if not just keep entering and winning tournaments and it will be yours eventually.

Found a sneaky little trick that is really helping me both win tournaments and rank up. Once you've entered a tournament, go to play game, but don't start the match yet, and have a look at who's playing, if #1 guy's paying, or someone you just can't beat (Moya for me) sign out, or dashboard out and reload the save. It puts you back to the start of the tournament and you can view if your nemesis is there again. This way I have avoided Roddick and Moya. May take a few reloads, but my god, works a treat vs the sheer stress of getting pumped over and over and never winning.

Done by making Roger Federer look like a chump multiple times. All jokes aside, Federer IS in fact who you have to beat out for the #1 Spot and this is done over thr course of your 5 year career by winning tournaments, Training well and Doing well in Special Events. If you take time off, you WILL drop in rank as other players are playing and you arent. So in short, you have to play to become the best.
