How to unlock the World Tour Regular achievement in Top Spin 3 - Definitive Guide
I can't believe nobody has posted a guide for this yet so having just won it, I thought I should post something. Please note, this is just my advice, and not a guaranteed solution. I've seen enough posts from people who've had problems with this to guess that it may well be quite a buggy achievement.
1. First up, the achievement description appears to be inaccurate. While in World Tour mode, you can play quick matches or tournament games. I believe that playing quick matches does not count towards this achievement. It has to be tournament games, and just to be on the safe side, I would recommend playing one of the big 4 grand slam tournaments.
2. Despite what you may have read elsewhere, I do not believe you have to win a tournament match in 5 different seasons, only play one to completion. I got the achievement having just lost the first game I played in the latest season.
3. I *think* that you have to play a game in 5 seasons with the same character so that the stats carry over from season to season. This is based on what happened to a friend of mine, who's character stats kept getting reset at the start of each new season. He did not get the achievement, even after winning a grand slam tournament game in 5 different seasons.
I'd welcome comments from anyone else who has had a different experience, and I will amend my guide accordingly.
EDIT: Thanks to all the commenters for explaining the problem with stats being reset when the game installs an update. It seems that the best way to avoid having your stats reset when an update installs is to limit the number of other Xbox games you play whilst going for this achievement. This is to prevent your Xbox from wiping the top spin update from its cache and redownloading it. Most people have stuck to 2-3 to be on the safe side but you may be able to get away with more if you have a newer model Xbox with a larger cache.

I'm the friend that had the problem. I actually think my stats have been re-setting at random times as opposed to at the start of every new season. It's unbearably annoying having spent so much time attempting to fully complete this irritating game. I've sent an email to 2K Sports notifying them of the problem and basically telling them to fix it ASAP! The thought of having to do another four seasons (waiting another ten weeks) after this one to get the achievement is just a nightmare I don't want to contemplate. However, the worst case scenario is that they won't be able to fix the problem of the games re-setting which means I'd never be able to win it all. Best case scenario is that 2K are somehow able to recover my lost stats which would hopefully mean I could get the achievement right away. I shall keep you posted of how things go.

I finally got this achievement a few weeks back. Basically if for what ever reason the game needs to update (in my case it was because I cleared my cache) then you will loose all your stats and have to start over :(
Unless of course the developers have found some way of fixing this problem but judging from the email I just had from someone who has just suffered the same problem as me I doubt very much this is the case.

This is only a solution for the crappy updates that wipe your progress.
I recently replaced my 2 xboxes with new ones in the middle of going for this achievement so I didnt bother to transfer my player data for the online achievements, however, my wife did.
I thought of an idea which was to log in with a silver account (or gold if you want) to trigger the update. Let the game update then sign out and sign in with your main account.
I can confirm this method works as my wife has her record, so you can carry on from where you left off regardless of any updates due to your cache wiping or whatever

xbox support told me that slim boxes don't have a limit to their cache so you don't get an update (usually - i still got updates when i was just "trying" for this). but now i have updated at least 30+ games and still have my progress (4 seasons - tomorrow will be my last... hopefully...)

Each season in world tour last about 700 hours. You have to either win or play a game in at least 5 seasons. You can check your progress by going to your players page on the world tour home screen
If you play all 14 online events to completion (win or lose) then the season will end and you can start a new one, so you’ll need to do this five times to unlock this award. The season’s are also timed so I’m not sure if you have to wait for time to run out before a new season will begin – any help would be appreciated here.
Took me ages to gain this achievement, but I have found a way to get it. If you have got two hard drives, just make sure you only play top spin on that hard drive and play other games on another hard drive. This allowed me to never install/update the game.
The only problem I had with it was it kept freezing on my last season, so I created a female character and played 1 game and the achievement popped.
Hope this helps.
