Select an easy (or very easy) opponent and wait for a return to the center of the field. Press "LT" and one of the smash buttons (A,B,X or Y) and your player will turn his body to the other side, making either a forehand or a backhand shot.

Hint: Enable ingame aids to see where the ball hits the field and position your player accordingly.

Just do 30 winners after turning and the achievement will unlock.

What is the inside-out shot?

Are you better tapping or holding x,a,b? Also is there anyway of checking how many I've done already?

I haven't played it in a while, so I don't know if you can keep track on the amount of In-Out-shots you've completed. Maybe there are global stats referring to this position? It wll unlock as soon as you've reached the 30. I guess, if you can time it correctly, just tapping one of the buttons might suffice.

If you are having trouble doing this against a CPU opponent you can plug in a second controller and do it that way, I found it a lot easier.

Sorry for the late reply. An inside-out shot occurs when the player switches between forehand and backhand. Only very good players can do this kind of shot because it requires quick reaction times.
In case your player is unable to perform an inside-out shot, the ball will go out before you reach it or the shot will not even be executed.
