Aruk is found in Korari Caves, in The Salt Barrens. He must be defeated, as he drops an item for the main storyline. You can pull him away from his minions and he's a pretty easy kill. If Aruk's Retainers are alive and next to him, he's much tougher.

I would also add that the Korari cave is exactly north from the Salt Barrens waypoint.
