How to unlock the Well Dressed achievement in Torchlight II - Definitive Guide
Some armor and weapons belong to "sets" and you can see this if you inspect its info. You get bonuses for wearing multiple pieces of a set. You'll need to wear enough of one of the sets to get the maximum bonus. According to the Torchlight II wiki, it looks like the number of pieces varies from two to seven.
There's no easy way to get this (that I know of), so you'll just have to get lucky with the drops. What I did was throw all set items into my stash chests until I had enough to get a full bonus. This took until Act II for me. I also tried to pick set items as quest rewards and it's worth checking the vendors to see what they sell, as well. After I had enough loot, I put everything on to pop the achievement (which unlocks immediately), then went back to my old armor and sold all the stuff in the stash.
Be careful! I noticed that some armor pieces had names that were similar to set item names, but were NOT set items. Look at the item's info and make sure it includes set bonus info. If it doesn't have that, it's NOT a part of a set.

Sets also have different numbers of items. I unlocked mine with the Clovenhoof set, which only has four pieces.

Yup. I mention that in the first paragraph in the solution. I was originally shooting for one of the lower-number sets, but got lucky and came across one that took something like five. I think it'll heavily depend on RNG for most people.

Periodically check all merchants and buy all items from sets.

I easily did it in the last act from a rare items dealer, constantly teleported back there and her assortment was updated, so in 5-10 minutes I collected the set of the king of the gnomes in which I finished off the last boss)

It is better to take care of working on this trophy at the beginning of the game, when the sets are still small - 2-4 pieces per set and the least rare. By the end of the game they will become larger, up to 9 parts and with rare items...
Click and see if there is a purple inscription “Kit”, since it may not be there, then this is not a part of the kit.
For example, there is simply “Armor of Sturmbeorn”, and there is one from the kit.
