How to unlock the Money Tree achievement in Torchlight III - Definitive Guide
One of the mainline story quests gives you magic seeds, you plant these magic seeds in your fort, and you get a luck tree sapling. You feed the sapling items, and it magically grows the tree. The tree has 5 levels, the fifth and final level is the Ancient Luck Tree, which gives you +5% gear luck when hunting (higher chance for legendaries to drop).
This achievement appears to be buggy, as both I and my co-op partner got our trees to level 5, this achievement popped for him and then relocked itself, but never popped for me. I've gone to my tree many times to try and trigger the achievement, but nothing.
This achievement was fixed in the latest update. If you grew your ancient luck tree prior to the update, simply pick the tree up, move it and put it down, and the achievement should pop. If this doesn't work, try putting it back into your inventory before placing it again.
Edit (16th April 2021):
If this is bugged for you and won't unlock, try the following:
1. Edit your fort by pressing down on the D-Pad.
2. Hover over the tree and add it back to your inventory (Y button).
3. Travel to Trevail Point. Then travel back to your fort.
4. Edit your fort again and place the tree anywhere.

I was at this point 5 days ago. I have tried every day since and still no chievo. I've submitted a flag for this too, but I'm not seeing it come up.

This achievement is definitely bugged. I grew my tree to Ancient, but achievement didn't unlock. I tried moving the tree and putting it in and taking it out of my inventory multiple times, but no luck. Eventually it unlocked for me (just now) when I made a new character and played a new game until I reached my fort in the first passage.
Hope this helps other people too.

This trophy is actually glitched and can't be unlocked at the moment.
The ancient luck tree starts off as a sapling that you receive during your quests. Plant the sapling in your fort and then you sacrifice gear to the mini tree to help it level up. After 5 levels it becomes the Ancient Luck Tree giving you a +5% bonus.
This trophy is not glitched as another guide suggests, however it IS very strict. Once you finish growing the Luck tree to Lvl 5 you must put it into your inventory and return to the very first fort in the game, Trevail Passage. When you "replant" the tree in your first fort the trophy will unlock.

Attention, the trophy is still glitchy. Don’t try to upgrade your tree right away by feeding it loot; it’s better to wait for patches. (Otherwise you will level up, but you won’t get the achievement - as it happened for me)
