How to unlock the Musketeer Garb achievement in Torchlight III - Definitive Guide

The Musketeer Garb set is an armor set specific to the Sharpshooter. The set consists of six armor pieces (head, chest, legs, shoulders, gloves, boots) that must be equipped at the same time. It is unlikely you will acquire a full set prior to finishing the game or reaching level sixty. Farming levels in Fazeer's Dun'djinn (the end game) that give a +50% gear luck modifier will be your best bet in finishing up the set. Set pieces can be acquired through the gambler.

Due to recent updates, Fazeer's Dun'djinn is no longer the best way to gather legendary sets. All set pieces are now available in end-game dungeons making gathering specific region sets more difficult. Bosses now have an increased chance of dropping legendary items and the bonus gear luck modifier from playing on ridiculous difficulty has increased. The Hyvid region has the most easily accessible bosses, so find a good route within the region's areas and focus on taking out bosses. Most overworld levels have multiple bosses to kill. Ignore mobs and take advantage of phase beasts. Bosses will respawn after traveling to two other areas. The layout of areas will remain the same unless you exit the game. Remember to take advantage of gear bonuses offered by the legendary chest pieces of region sets. There has been some reports that returning to campaign areas with a level 60 character decreases the chance of legendary items dropping. I cannot confirm this to be true, as I received comparable drops with both mid and max leveled characters.

All set pieces can be acquired through the gambler and gear bundles given through contract completion. With recent updates the chance of legendary items dropping from rare gear bundles has increased.

I did everything I could think of to get this achievement to work and haven't succeeded yet. I deleted all Musketeer gear and my lvl 60 Sharpshooter, started a new Sharpshooter, and collected the whole set again (needing to gamble two pieces, but that never mattered with the other sets), but still no pop.

So I've reluctantly deleted all save data and started over completely. I can only hope that A) the Musketeer set achievement will work this time and B) that it also remembers my progress towards (and simultaneously satisfies) the Legendary Sets achievement, otherwise I'll have to grind out all other sets again.

Having to waste another 100 hours is better than having things permanently broken, I guess.

What a mess :(

I had hoped this might just be a delayed unlock but it’s been almost 24 hours and nothing. I’ve tried a lot of different things to get it to work. Signing out of my profile, signing into a different Xbox, and equipping all of the gear and re-equipping it all numerous times, traveling and playing in different regions of the game. Nothing will work for me.

I’m not really sure what my other options are. Maybe one of the pieces isn’t registering properly so perhaps if I find another boot an equip it with the rest that will trigger the achievement? I’m just not sure. I don’t know if maybe leveling up another character so I can equip all six pieces will then work. I don’t know if deleting my save file completely and starting from scratch to collect all six pieces brand new will work. I’m just not really sure what to do at this point. But I still have to grind out 1 million kill so I’ve got a lot of time left on this game anyway. I just really hope I’m not permanently screwed. Something has to work, you would think.

Anyone have thoughts on how to best approach the 50% gear luck Fazeer’s Dun’djinn zones? I was clearing the entire level, hoping for more yellow and green (teal?) mobs, to get more chances per level at the set pieces...but it was tedious. Eventually I got sick of it and just went straight for the bosses. Wondering if anyone has an idea of which approach is more efficient for farming sets, whether it be for the class sets or the zone sets?

@Jameson Updated the solution. Go for bosses.

Anyone have any issues with these achievements not popping properly? This is the 5th set I've completed and the only one so far that hasn't popped the achievement. I've tried removing the gear and putting it back on, quitting the game, signing out, etc.

I completed the Arc set shortly after and that one popped as expected like the rest. Shit :(

Welp, it popped when I got the 6th piece. I was level 37 and about halfway through the 3rd area when the 5th piece dropped from a boss. I gambled the 6th with the 40k gold I had accumulated and amazingly, the achievement popped.

But Legendary Set didn't, so the game doesn't remember that I got the rest of the sets already. So I need to play all chars from scratch and collect all the sets again and hope that nothing gets wonky since I won't see achievements pop when equipping them this time.

Not an optimal scenario, but at least I should be able to get this completed now. Eventually. Fingers crossed.

That's unfortunate. The only additional thing that comes to mind is to try swapping them on/off in one go using a statue (also try leaving the equipment on, hard quitting the game and restarting - I think I experienced one achievement pop on game start, but not the complete-set ones). Leveling up another character might be worth a try to share the equipment, as it counts towards your 1 million kills at least, whereas wiping your save entirely will probably reset it. Only problem with that might be needing to find yet another specific piece for that character to complete the set.
Other unlikely-to-work things to try would be a hard reset of the Xbox (I've found that that sometimes triggers a handshake on the achievements with the MS backend).

This is a class set and can only be assembled by playing as Sniper.
