How to unlock the Despised achievement in Torment: Tides of Numenera - Definitive Guide
**THIS SOLUTION CONTAINS SPOILERS**
A much trickier achievement to obtain when compared to the Beloved one. The goal here is to have the three characters in your party hate you. You can check your companions affinity level in various ways. One would be asking them how they feel about you and the other would be in the inventory tab. Just look at the bar under the characters image. Left is dislike and right is like. These are the five levels of affinity:
Despised < Dislike < Neutral < Like < Revere
Obviously the goal for this achievement is to move the circular marker all the way to the left of the bar. However, my final companion merely got to dislike and the achievement popped. I'll explain that below.
The basics to make your group start hating you are as follows:
-IMPORTANT: Save constantly, sometimes the companions affinity will go positive without
you realizing until after it's done. Or in some cases a companion will leave your party
permanently. Aligern can do this when you try to sell off Rihn.
-When speaking to them try to choose mean responses and be dismissive to things they
care about. Let them know how little you care about them.
-Force them to do things they don't want to do. Good examples are feeding them to the
maws in the Bloom or being a test subject for Demeray and Obervich also in the bloom.
You do this usually by Persuasion or Intimidation.
-Feed companions to Aen-tozon in Little Nihilesh in the Bloom.
-Act in ways that they disapprove of. Like trying to give Rihn to slavers or sell her to the
decanted in the bloom for example. Responses to certain NPCs also affect your
companions affinity.
-Completely avoid their quests or complete them in ways they don't approve of.
-While I popped the achievement upon feeding them to the Aen-tozon & the first big maw I
came across in Little Nehliesh. There are still other maws in the bloom you can feed your
companions too.
-I got this achievement on my 2nd playthrough while going for The Hall of Memories and
Memovira achievements
Below I will list the companions I unlocked the achievement with and detail the actions I made to make them despise me.
Aligern: Always say that you are the changing god. He's a major protector of Rihn so have him in your party when being mean to her. In Sagus Cliffs when speaking to Beleazar I choose an option that caused him to dislike me(I cannot remember what it was, I'll update as soon as I find out). Agree with Min of Tan Liang when conversing in the Order of Truth. Try to give Rihn Back to the slavers, however, if you actually give her to the slavers he will leave your party for good. Persuade Loss-of-self to jump off the cliff. Snap Aiden Sitabo's neck after winning his duel (I read that his affinity goes up for you winning the duel). Tell Aligern to use his tattoos. I personally avoided his quest and shot him down whenever he brought it up (statue in Valley of Dead Heroes). When Speaking to Aadiriis in Miel Avest DO NOT have him in your party, Try to sell Rihn to the decanted in the bloom, apparently he might leave the party but it didn't happen to me. I tried tell sell her to the decanted twice. Feed him to Aen-tozon in Little Nihliesh. Feed him to the big maw in Little Nihliesh and leave him inside. This is were the achievement popped for me. NOTE: When I arrived to the Bloom Aligern's affinity was at neutral. With all the negative things I did to him I though it should at least be on dislike. It was almost as if the affinity bar was stuck. Upon feeding him to the big maw in little nihliesh the achievement unlocked. When I checked his affinity bar it was now at dislike NOT all the way left to despised.
Erritis: He's a major protector of Rihn so have him in your party when you are mean to her. Attempt to give Rihn back to slavers. Persuade loss-of-self to jump off cliff. Kill Aidan Sitabo after defeating him. Kill the rogue Stichus in Cliff's Edge. Try to sell Rihn to the Decanted in the Bloom. After doing this I already had his affinity at despised. I'll add some more actions you can do. Tell Skoura that you want to make Erritis stronger and tell the same to the audience.
Rihn: A lot of the times her affinity dropped was during conversations with her. Tell her to shut up, tell her she is crazy, tell her you business is yours and not hers, tell her you enjoy using the tides for your own personal gain not caring if it hurts people. I believe there are 3 conversations that you can be really mean. Persuade Loss-of-self to jump off cliff. Kill Aidan Sitabo after besting him. Be mean to everyone. Try to sell her to slavers. Try to sell her to decanted. I already had her at despised at this point. Other things you can do are: Sell Coty to the decanted. Feed Other companions to the maws. NOTE: Her opinion of me improved on how I handled the slavers in Sagus cliffs. I know her opinion will then worsen if you fight Tol and hack up her body after the fight. I didn't kill Tol cause I wanted to sleep for free by the big Clock I broke.
The other party member I swapped in was Matkina, here are some things you can do to piss her off. The lowest I got her was neutral.
Matkina: Do not help Clarion in the Fifth Eye Tavern. Agree with Paj upon arriving at Miel Avest and afterwards tell her she interrupted. Do not help her reconcile with Melmoth in Miel Avest. Feed her to any Maws possible in the Bloom.
Hope this information proves helpful. Not a difficult achievement, you just gotta pay attention.

Make sure you have two characters that dislike you in your party before you perform the action that causes the third character to dislike you or the achievement will not pop.
I had two characters at "dislike" that weren't travelling with me when I fed Matkina to a maw (Chila's Spire). This caused her to dislike me. I tried adding the other two characters to my party afterwards but the achievement didn't pop even though all three in my party disliked me.
I reloaded and added them to the party before feeding Matkina to the maw and the achievement popped as soon as the post event dialog was completed.

Yes. This happened to me with beloved. I’ll add that valuable piece of info to this solution. Thanks for reminding me.

This is a hard one to do but I've got some pointers for lowering affection levels.
I personally did Rhin, Erritis, Tybir on an old save at the start of the Bloom. Tried to sell Rhin. Offered Tybir to Aen-Tozen. Told Tybir we didn't have time to look for Auvvie, then did his quest and left him to it at the end. They all started with maxed out affection.
All:
Offer them to Aen-Tozen in Little Nielish
Rhin, Erritis
When you get to the Bloom, rest once, then try to sell Rhin to the Decanted.
Callistege
Take her to the Changing Gods Sanctuary, don't give her the book. Don't let her study the harp in the Necropolis.
Oom:
Letting the Bloom doctors use him as a test subject during Skoras quest will knock his affection down a couple of levels.
Aligern
Claim to be the Changing God constantly. Don't do his quests. Feed to the Maw in Little Nilesh but pull him out. Leaving him in makes him leave.
Tybir
Try to weasel out of his quest in the Bloom whenever you can. Let him do all the things that are 'him', like stealing etc. Let him have revenge at the end of his quest.
Matkina
Treat her like dirt in Miel Avest. Feed her to the Maw in the Shrine of Chila

Same worked for me except I had to take tybir back to dracogen after killing the shrine guy then talk to him and choose "what's wrong with that" to make him dislike me a little more.

This sounds more difficult than it actually is if you have Rhin with you.
You only have to have the currently active party dislike you, so only three people. Be warned though that it doesn't count if one of the characters despises you but instantly leaves your party because of it. Happened to me with Aligern and it didn't work that way.
In the end I only had to work long-term on making one character dislike me. In my case that was Tybir who I treated pretty badly.
The other two were Rhin and Erritis. Both of them actually liked my main character, Rhin was at maximum affection for him and Erritis one only one level below.
Once you reach the bloom and after sleeping there for the first time an NPC called the Decanted will appear in front of the slave auction. He is interested in buying Rhin. Agree to sell her and Rhin's affection for you will immediately drop to despising you. Erritis will stop the deal from going through and also despise you instantly, but neither of them will leave your party. At least not if they liked you before, I can't tell if maybe they leave if their relation to the main character was less good before.
That's two characters you can instantly get from liking you a lot to despising you, leaving only one you have to work on for longer.

You don't need all the characters to hate GG. Three characters from the party are enough.
My advice is Alligern, Erritis, Rin. All of them are enraged by approximately the same actions.
General tips: Be rude to your teammates, tell them you don't care what they think, and do things that piss them off.
Don't buy them clothes, force them to do things they don't want to do.
