How to unlock the Hall Of Memories achievement in Torment: Tides of Numenera - Definitive Guide

**THIS SOLUTION CONTAINS SPOILERS**

This is a miss-able achievement.

In order to unlock this you need to unlock various NPCs and area's in the calm. The calm is essentially your mind. It's were you first start the game and were you end up if you die. There's are also scripted parts of the game that take you there. However, there are sometimes instances that you can die that you will not be taken to the calm, if that's the case, then you end up at a game over screen and you would need to reload a save.

The element's are either Fathoms (area's you can enter) or reflections (ghost NPCs). They are all unlocked by either questing, interacting with the world or talking to NPCs. The fathoms have NPCs within them and I'm not entirely sure if they are all required for the achievement but I suggest unlocking them all just in case. Once a new reflection opens up in the clam the game will notify you in the upper left side of the screen.

The achievement unlocks when you return to the calm after the battle with the first castoff towards the end of the game.

Below I'll list the elements and explain how to unlock them.

Fathoms:

-The Clock Fathom - Unlocked when you attempt to fix the clock in circus minor in sagus
cliffs. This is during the Fallen to Earth quest and you need to interact with the 3 NPCs
inside.

-The Sorrow's Fathom - Opened during the Infestation quest which you get automatically
after A wrestled Mind quest.

-The Daughter's Fathom - This is opened during two quests Ashen Imitations and The
Sorrows Prey. The Sorrow's Prey quest is initiated by talking to Zaofi the Sculptor in Circus
Minor and agreeing to help find out more about his subject. The Ashen Imitations quest is
initiated by allowing yourself to be strangled by the ghostly woman in The Fifth Eye Tavern
in Cliffs Edge. The women you need to find to populate the fathom are: Kiyatawa in the
Dendra O'Hur chapel in the Underbelly; Sigyn in the Government Square; Avina, Seria and
Loss-of-self in the Cliff's Edge.

Reflections:

-Nychtemeron – Circus Minor in Sagus Cliffs. You will need to fail to fix the clock for the Cult of the Changing God. You do this by selecting smash on one of the machines around the clock you need to interact with. This will bring night time into the Circus Minor and you will be able to talk to Nychtemeron. He will ask you to set him free – do so.

-Seria – Talk to Zaofi the Sculptor in the Circus Minor to get a quest The Sorrow's Prey. Go check out the victim’s house in the Cliff’s Edge. This will make Seria’s reflection appear in the Calm. To communicate with her, you will need to get he puzzle box. Talk to the Changing God cultists (Aitasii, Barant and Guromo) standing near the victim’s house and they will direct you to Avina (also found in Cliff’s Edge). You can convince her to give you the puzzle box which you can afterwards show to Seria in the Calm.

-Erritis – His reflection will appear in the Calm after you find his tomb in the Valley of Dead Heroes, examine it and pick up his farmer’s stick. His tomb is not in the Necropolis but right outside the entrance before the merchant.

-Choi – You need to finish The Severed Child quest and bring peace to Choi. I included the
quest below:

To the left of the entrance to the Necropolis there is a big crystal. Interact with it to
start the quest “The Severed Child”. You will need to visit several tombs and step
into Inifere's mere.

Fist, talk to Motley (or read the note found on his corpse) to find the location of a
tomb with Oddwald. Ask Oddwald about Choi and he will give you location of her
tomb.

Go there, examine the pillar and find out that Choi’s last name was Cai'Sul. So off we
go to talk to Ronos Cai'Sul outside in the Valley. He will give you his tomb code.
Go there and investigate the “headstone”. You will get the code to Marcysa’s tomb
(which is the same as a tomb with the Endless Gate).

Go there and investigate one of the structures to find a Twisted Metal Merecaster.
This is Inifere’s merecaster.

Go though the Endless Gate and get to Inifere. Persuade or Intimidate him into
unlocking the merecaster for you. Once in the mere, you will get a chance at some
point to ask Inifere to release Choi’s soul to you (Persuasion or Anamnesis). This will
unlock Choi’s reflection in the Calm.

After you are done with the Endless Gate, revisit the Cai'Sul tomb and Choi’s tomb
and reexamine stuff in them. Finally, talk to Ronos Cai’Sul in the Valley again.

-Inifere – You need to get his merecaster, convince him to unlock it for you and enter the
mere. You get the merecaster during The Severed Child quest above. During the mere,
make sure that Inifere survives (he will not appear as a reflection if he dies in the mere). To
do that, make Inifere sit on the throne and wait for the Sorrow to come. And only then use
the throne’s power to stymie the Sorrow. Do not make Inifere get up, open the door and
confront the Sorrow directly – he will die. Afterwards talk to Inifere, he will kill himself and
appear in the Calm.

-Artaglio – Chiurgeon Slump in the Bloom. Convince him to give himself to the Maw.
Afterwards you meet him in the Gullet. At this point convince him to join your mind.

-Catena Intelligence – Crashed catena in the Little Nihliesh in the Bloom. Talk to the
passengers and Persuade them that you can store them in your mind.

I choose not include all the quests needed for this cause of the amount of information I would need to include. They can all be easily looked up via the web if needed.

A huge credit goes to fabula_rasa who provided a lot of the information here.

If there is anything I can add or remove please let me know,

Hope this guide proves useful.

I'm curious if this achievement is possible if you decide to power up Erritis' nanites--if you do his reflection disappears, so I'm guessing the two achievements conflict.

Edit: His reflection also disappears if you have the nanites leave him alone, which is needed for later achievements. So I'm going to continue down this path. Hope I don't miss Hall of Memories achievement, if so then it would seem that it might be required to leave Erritis in limbo.

Update: Even though Erritis' reflection disappeared when I chose to have the nanites back off and just observe, the achievement finally popped after the confrontation with the First Castoff.

This solution worked perfectly. My only criticism is that the Inifere merecaster took a number of attempts before I could get him to sit in the throne and defeat the Sorrow. The most important points in the merecaster that got me to the proper conclusion were to make sure to try and take as much control from Inifere as possible (trying to convince the followers to kill his servant, forming a bond by warning Inifere of the danger posed by the sorrow) and by telling Inifere's servant that she has been a loyal follower. Even doing this, I was not always able to get Inifere to sit in the throne, and once the Sorrow killed him regardless. It seems pretty hit or miss whether he survives.

Also, after the merecaster, if you tell Inifere that he should kill himself, it seems to lead to a crisis regardless, so avoid that dialogue option.
