How to unlock the Valley's Hero achievement in Torment: Tides of Numenera - Definitive Guide
This is a missable achievement.
Two other achievements should be combined with this, Accidental Saviour and Peace Bringer
When you arrive in Heroes Valley Cultists demand you find two lost people. Agree to help. Turn around and interact with the wall. You then have the option of inspecting further. Makesure that you attempt this but yo MUST fail, so have the character with the lowest success chance and do not put any points into it. When you fail go back to the cultists and tell them you can't find the escapees. As you failed the perception quest they believe you and leave. The two escapees then climb out from wall. This unlocks the Accidental Saviour achievement.
These two memorialists will then give you the quest Endless Horror. Make sure that you also pick up the Severed Child quest by interacting with a large crystal.
Go inside the Necropolis. Learn the code from the hostages to activate the transporter, if you failed to get the Endless Horror quest from the two escapees make sure that you save the hostages and you can gain it from these.
The code you require is 1254 when you arrive the cultists will run through the endless gate. Interact with a statue to the left to pick up th The twisted metal merecaster. Before going through the gate make sure the Severed Child Quest is also directing you to the Gate. As both achievements are unlocked through here.
Inside the endless gate make your way around the path. If you picked up the merecaster use the shortcuts to avoid many tough battles with cultists, you will finally reach Inifere.
There are 3 methods to close the gate,
1 Not Recommended. Killing Inifere by initiating combat, this is a tough fight which also includes an invisible monster. If you already fought with cultists you will have lower health and used your cyphers. Also Do not do this if you also need the Severed Child Achievement.
2, The best method, If you picked up the merecaster convince him to use it, (while inside the mere ask inifere to release choi's remains for Severed child quest) afterwards you can use his memories to convince him to close the gate and end the suffering of the valley.
3. If you failed to pick up the merecaster don't worry. During dialogue use deception and persuasion to convince Inifere to close the gate.
Which ever method you choose the achievement will unlock as soon as you are returned outside the gate.

One fun fact to note maybe - if earlier on in the game you went to Quijano del Toboso, the old knight with an overactive imagination that hangs around the airship docks in Caravanserai AFTER completing "Circles in Red", you can tell him about the Children of the Endless Gate, which riles him up, causing him to seemingly walk all the way to the Valley on foot (possibly the most badass thing in the game, especially considering he not only survives, but beats you by airship lol).
Anyways, if you did this, you can find him near Inifere later on, and he'll aid you in combat if you choose to take him on, which makes the fight a bit easier.

The trophy was given after completing the side quest "Torn Child". You can take the quest in the Valley of Forgotten Heroes. To the left of the entrance to the Necropolis there will be a huge red crystal. You need to explore it and find out the story of the girl Choi. Then there’s nothing complicated - you just need to follow the clues that will be in the main character’s diary.
Perhaps this quest can be completed peacefully, but I killed the villain. And here’s a little trick to make it easier to deal with. When you are still in the Cliffs of Sagus, in the location, which is a port for merchant ships (I forgot what it’s called, but there are flying ships), you can find the old man Quijano del Toboso in the right corner. If you approach him after investigating the Underbelly murder and tell him to hunt the Children of the Gate, he will help you in the boss battle from the Torn Child quest. Believe me, his help will not be superfluous.
