How to unlock the A Sharp Point Sticks Out achievement in Total War: THREE KINGDOMS - Definitive Guide
Characters seem to have differing starting stats, so you'll want to pick a character that has high stats in their color-corresponding attribute to begin with. I did it with Lu Bu, but it should be doable with most characters that have unique artwork. The ways I found of increasing a character's attributes are
Ancillaries make up probably the majority of your attribute points. If you're using a unique character, they're most likely already using a unique armor and weapon, both of which usually gives a massive gain to their main attributes. You'll get most of your ancillaries through combat, either as a random drop or from executing generals (not all generals will drop an ancillary on execution). Animal Tamers, Armor Craftsmen, and Weapon Craftsmen have a chance per turn of giving you mounts, armor, and weapons respectively. There are some events that also have a chance of giving you an ancillary, and your faction council will sometimes suggest buying an ancillary for 500 gold.
If you're still a bit short, you can give titles to your characters, a lot of which come with an attribute bonus. Some titles are locked at the start and require certain feats to unlock them (this should appear in the tooltip when you hover over them). Side note, doing this 5 times will earn you Many Faces, Many Names
Another thing you can try to change or at least look out for are character traits. These are preset with the character, but they have a chance of gaining new ones under certain conditions. There is also a faction council action that sometimes appears to re-roll a particular character's trait (the character to re-roll is chosen by RNG, though, not you).
(If you have a Nanman character, they have a different leveling system more akin to putting points in attributes directly. This might be better or worse depending on the max number of attribute points you can give. They also have a feat system for unlocking skills, but unlike Han characters, I don't believe attribute points come with those. The rest of the details should be about the same).
