How to unlock the Double Happiness achievement in Total War: THREE KINGDOMS - Definitive Guide
You must use one of the Yellow Turban factions that appear in 190CE. I originally attempted this as Zhang Yue in 182CE, but it didn't unlock, despite the fact the building chain does exist for him. So when going for this, only the 190CE leaders will do.
The Prosperous Farming Estates chain begins with the "Farm Plots". You will be able to freely upgrade this to tier 3. However, tiers 4 & 5 will require research to unlock them. Do watch out as there are two similarly named chains. You do *not* want the farmer housing chain, which begins with "Refugee Shelters" as this culminates with "Walled Peasant Housing" rather than the "Prosperous Farming Estates" you need for the achievement.
Tier 4 is the "Communal Farming Estates" and will require the "Prioritise Infrastructure", which is in the "Book of the Land" branch.
Tier 5 is the "Prosperous Farming Estates" that you need for the achievement. This will require the "Build to Last", which is also found in the "Book of the Land" branch.
These buildings add additional food supply, so if you plan to play for the long term, you will naturally need these to increase the capacity of your settlements (every tier of city will need increasing amounts of food). Once you have built 8 of them, the achievement will unlock.
