How to unlock the Good luck, miner! achievement in Townsmen - A Kingdom Rebuilt - Definitive Guide
This achievement takes time, but it's definitely doable. I recommend going for the achievement after you reach level 40 as the extra crowns will really help.
For this quest, use crowns to build a marketplace and a carpenter workshop early on. The treasury helps a lot too. Keep all of the mines repaired. You cannot demolish any of them or lose any of them during the duration of the scenario.
Avalanches occur for one of two reasons:
1. Naturally. Avalanches happen periodically. The more you are mining, the more often it happens. For this reason, I only kept one mine running at a time until I had enough money to sustain the mines from avalanches caused by 2-3 mines going at a time.
2. Failing bandit demands. Who gave these people power over avalanches? ugh.
You can play this level smart by not progressing in the quest early on. Build your village up. You should achieve the following:
- A church
- A tavern
- Clothing for villagers
- Charcoal burner
- Smelter
- Toolmaker and goldsmith (optional. I personally bought all the tools I needed and the 10 jewelry that the bandits will demand. Any iron bars or gold bars spent on anything makes this scenario take even longer, and it's already moderately long.)
- 80%+ decoration
When building, be patient. Only build when you will still be left with a money buffer to repair buildings, mines, etc. Also, do not build anything in the avalanche zone. I even destroyed that warehouse early on and built one elsewhere.
There are a few small quests that you'll get from villagers and bandits. Most of these quests are resolved by having one of the above buildings or by purchasing a small amount of bread, clothes, jewelry, etc. from the marketplace as needed for a quest. The main quests that take the longest amount of time is to provide iron bars and gold bars for the king. There is one iron bar quest (I think it had been around 230 iron bars) and one old bar quest (I think it had been around 170 gold bars).
Bandit quests advance for three reasons:
- You start making gold bars
- You get over 100 iron bars
- You proceed with the quests
What I did was hold out on turning in quests until I had everything set up. Once everything was set up, THEN I began making iron bars. When I was at 100 bars, I fulfilled the bandit demand. Got more money for the next demand and then started making gold bars too. Fulfilled the bandit demand. THEN I started turning in quests and fulfilling demands as needed. Because my village was already set up, I auto completed a large portion of the quests and was able to use marketplace for things I was missing.
Doing things slow this way made this achievement far easier. It did take me around two hours to complete, but it was better than losing for lack of funds to repair mines.

Spot on. Thanks!
Might be worth mentioning that there are 5 mines to maintain. I had one moment when there was a 'natural' avalanche almost immediately followed by a bandit avalanche that caused me some issues but overall not too bad!
Also, if you build anything that uses iron or gold bars (toolmakers etc...) remember to turn them off, otherwise they will use up that resource.

There are 5 mines initially and 2 must be built according to the quest, since the quest is not obligatory, perhaps the initial 5 will be enough.

We must constantly repair mines for money. Avalanches occur periodically, after a warning about a high threat or immediately after the failure of bandits' missions. You have to go over them and repair them for money. An avalanche randomly removes 0/25/50/75% of the mine's HP, so you need to make sure that it is at least 75% before the avalanches.
And of course, don’t build two additional mines.
The main thing is to survive the first two avalanches, when there are not a lot of coins, then there should be no problems.
