How to unlock the Clutch Repairs achievement in Toy Soldiers: Cold War - Definitive Guide
A much easier method to get this achievement is to play versus mode with a friend. Have one person build a chemical turret and get the other person to bring his hero/action figure to your base. Simply get your friend to shoot at the turret until it's on a really low amount of health and then repair your turret. This method is much easier than trying to get the achievement in Campaign or Survival.

I just found this method today on my own.
I didn't want to play coop so I fired uP level 7 called trouble at the canal. Play on casual.
I crashed the plane at the start and than built 2 machine gun turrets at the very front of the aircraft carrier and two all the way in the back.
Also build one anti aircraft gun at the back right turret spot.
Do NOT UPGRADE or build anything else.
Now just sit back and let the two front machine gun nests take damage from the waves of choppers, troops, and planes.
What I do is hover over the most damaged turrets and wait for the red bar to get Down to where it curves. That's how you know it's damaged enough. If any part of the bar is before that curve in the health bar than it has too much health to repair for the save. Now keep the cursor over the turret and as soon as the red bar goes past that curve click to repair it.
Now I got two saves by letting the attack choppers tear the turrets up, but the bread and butter comes when the boss attacks.
DONT SHOOT THE BOSS. Allow the anti air to kill the choppers! Don't worry about those.... Instead focus on the troops getting dropped of.... Take control of one turret and don't fire. Allow the rpg troops to damage your turret down and allow the other turret to shoot them.
Sooner or later you will get that bar in the right spot.. Just make sure to heal it right after the rocket gets it down past the health bar curve because if one more rocket comes in you will lose the turret.
I got ALL FIVE saves this way in one play that took me about 15 minutes.
Also the boss should repeat chopper and rpg infantry spam over and over unless you attack him and "kill" him to level two.
Good luck.

You must repair a turret when it is on the verge of being destroyed. Hovering over a turret with show its current health. You must hit repair (the wrench icon when the turret is selected) when the health bar is basically empty.
You'll know you did this once if the word Rescued! pops up in blue. If it doesn't appear, it's likely the turret had a bit too much health before you repaired.
Worth noting that this doesn't need to be done in a single level. Your total carries over, so you only need 5 across your entire career.

Very easy way to get this with a second controller is to go into Versus and create a private match then press A on your second controller to join with a dummy account. Select the map Isolation then change Toy Box health to 100.
With your main account, create a Makeshift emplacement down to your left. Then with your second controller, take control of the super soldier Ivan located to the right. Now head over to your main’s emplacement, shoot it with five rockets (LT) then lower it to a sliver of health with your LMG. Repair the emplacement then repeat four more times for the achievement.

To get this achievement go into Split-Screen Versus. Make the second player be the Russians. Make sure you are on the level Isolation. Once it starts build turrets on both sides for safety. DO NOT build Artillery. Make the Russians capture the netural spot. Build a Machine-Gun there and level it up to level 3. Make the US build a Makeshift in the middle build spot. The Russian should then take control of the level 3 Machine-Gun and constantly shoot the Makeshift until it has very low health. Repair it for a Rescued! bonus. You should get the achievement once you get the 5th Rescued! bonus.
