To use Wavelist Rewind at any time, maybe if a few enemy units enter your Toy Box and you want to prevent it from happening, hit start and use the Wavelist Rewind option to go back to any previous wave.

I think you can do it in both - It's been almost 3 years since I posted my solution so a little rusty!

Can I do this in story mode or survival? you didn't where to do this

When you fail any wave (apart from the first) you get the option of using Rewind. This basically starts you from that wave again.
And thats it. Fail a wave, hit A for Retry and the achievment will pop.

During any mission press the 
button. Then choose any wave on the list. You should get the achievement right as you pick a new wave.
