This achievement is either mislabeled or glitched. I played this on "When Toys Collide" using the three Fokker Triplanes available and it counted. There are 6 waves of UFOs to shoot down (Wave 1: has 8, Wave 7: 8, Wave 12: 20, Wave 16: 8, Wave 18: 8, Wave 21: 8) so this should be easy to obtain. Tracked in the bottom left corner and achievement will pop when the 40th UFO is downed.
Waves 1-8: I build a chemical emplacement closest to the Toy Box, then jumped in a plane to start blasting the UFOs. Any infantry units should be dealt with using strafing runs when they emerge from the rockets and up the center of the path. The rest should be dealt with by the chemical emplacement. Not all but enough. Any planes can be shot down or ignored and zeppelins are easily downed with the plane. Should have enough money for the next waves. Don't be afraid to down this plane and move on
Waves 9-18 I built mortars and artillery to deal with the fire trucks and knights. Upgrade some towards the back of the group and let them deal with the units. Jump in another plane and start dealing with the aerial units. Use a barrage if the Toy Box Health starts getting a little lower than you want. Wave 16 or 18 should be where you get your achievement, depending on your accuracy and flight ability.
