How to unlock the Rocketman achievement in Toy Soldiers - Definitive Guide

Here, I've listed all the rockets and which method I used to get them. To save your progress, you have to finish the level, either with a Win or a Loss. Directions are based on looking from the toy box:

(GLITCH: At the moment, this achievement is glitched. If you're playing and no counter comes up when a Golden Rocket is destroyed, odds are you're one of the players suffering from the glitch. There is a fix, though it comes with a price. All you have to do is go into the options menu on the main menu and erase your save file by pressing 'Y'. I'd suggest waiting until you've cleared all other achievements.)

Level 1 - When Toys Collide, 1918
- (Sniper) On a frozen lake to the left of the sniper tower.
- (Sniper) In front of and to the right of the toy box, next to a building at the end of the trenches surrounding the emplacements.
- (P-51 Mustang) In the center of the map at the bottom of the ice crevice.
- (Sniper) On the top of the middle castle opposite the toy box.
- (P-51 Mustang) In the back-right corner, at the end of a path in a small, open-air nook.

Level 2 - Not of This Toy Box, 1918
- (Sniper) To the left of the Space Tank among some fenced-in crates.
- (Sniper) Looking into the field from the sniper tower, it is on the right behind an old-fashioned well, between two buildings.
- (T-17 Space Tank) In front of the castle behind the large church in the opposite corner.
- (Sniper) Under a tree in front of an enemy barracks directly next to the the Sniper Tower.
- (T-17 Space Tank) In the bushes in front of Toy Box entrance.

Level 3 - Revenge of Toyzilla, 1918
- (P-51 Mustang) Under bridge in front of Toy Box.
- (Sniper) In front of a house next to a giant saber.
- (P-51 Mustang) Between a pair of rocket barracks.
- (Sniper) In the trees next to a build spot, in front of another pair of rocket barracks.
- (Sniper) At the intersection of the little neighborhood where RoboBob begins his rampage.

This was glitched for me too, and I couldn't find any way to both get this Achievement and keep my game save progress. So now I have the Achievement, but all my progress in the entire game including the main campaign, has been lost. It's really obnoxious that this is two years on and they never fixed it. Also that they keep your save progress in your profile. If it were on the HDD it would be trivial to back it up, reset and attain this Achievement, then restore.

To try and retain my save progress I backed up my profile to a USB stick, then recovered my profile to HDD, disabled my wifi to force myself offline, reset my save data, then just before getting 15/15 I restored my wifi and made sure I was signed into Live, got the Achievement, dashboarded, and moved my backup profile back from the USB to HDD. I thought because the game never showed "saving" while I was online that maybe it hadn't reset my progress. But it did. Even with the restored profile, my xbox.com and local Achievements all match up correctly, but all the Toy Soldiers progress is lost.

I bought an 8GB USB memory stick, turned off 360, removed hard drive, recovered profile onto memory stick and downloaded TS and Invasion! again.

Even doing this, I STILL had to go to option and delete save for the golden rocket ticker to register. After that, it worked like a charm!

Collect the rockets during a full replay of the first two levels (to progress), then on the final stage just quickly collect the rockets and stick a fork in Toy Soldiers.

Great solution, but mine is glitched beyond recovery. Tried the delete settings route a couple of times and even with the counter at 15/15, the achievement still doesn't unlock.

In fact, each time it set my gamerscore to 0 (!) and erased my avatar until I power cycled by Xbox.

Signal Studios needs to patch this.

Mine was also glitched, but in a diffrent way. When I played the Invasion DLC for first time and shot my first rocket I got 11/15. When I found the other four on When Toys Collides, 1918 I had 15/15 and it popped. I guess on my glitch I lucked out.

Dude I don't know what you think a saber is? The one that he "explains" to be near a giant saber is right in front of a house straight on from your toy box and past the sniper tower. Snipe to get it. Otherwise spot on guide.

This actually glitched in a good way for me. Before I had ever even played this DLC I already had 10/15 unlocked which apparently were the 2nd and 3rd mission rockets because as soon as I got the 5 in mission 1 I got the achievement.

Just wanted to confirm that the golden rocket glitch is still alive and well. I just picked the game up, finished campaign and campaign+, then Kaiser's Battle, with no issues at all. Loaded up Invasion! and right from the first rocket on, it didn't count them and getting all of them anyway did not make the achievement pop.

Resetting the save still works; counter came back and I now have my achievement.

Great solution, a couple notes:

- (T-17 Space Tank) In the bushes in front of Toy Box entrance. ...... this can be done with the sniper.
- (T-17 Space Tank) In front of the castle behind the large church in the back corner. ..... easier to destroy the building with the tank and then snipe it.

Yup I just got glitched on this as well. Played through the game then went back to get the rockets. There was no counter but I didn't think that would be a problem. Anyway, found all 15 and nothing. Now I'm gonna try and reset the data and see if that works for me.

Resetting the data and replaying the levels still works fine to get this achievement, though it is kind of obnoxious to have to re-do.

Thanks for the heads up on the glitch, if I did read this first I would have done it about 20 times then broke something THEN looked online for an answer.

Cheers buddy, I was half way through the 1st level, didn't even notice the bug icon on the achievement just took it for granted but when I scrolled down then saw the glitch warning, I backed up my save on a hdd (whether that will work) as I've attempted downloading it again (didn't work) so had to reset settings like you advise in the game settings on the main menu. +1 vote up

Still glitched as of 2018, never getting patched at this point. Thanks for the guide.

Sc0rp1us has a good theory, someone should test it out in 2020 the next time someone goes for this achievement, lol.

Lol Klarc Clark.... it’s 2020 and yes, I was going for this achievement. You guessed right. I wonder if it will be 2022 the next time someone goes for this achievement? ;-)

Anyway, it’s still glitched. I got all my other achievements safely. Then deleted my save by pressing ‘Y’. Then it worked a charm for the counter and I got the 15 rockets.

Quick tip to save time though: As I’d already played through this DLC a couple of times (ironically.....looking for which rocket I must have missed trying to get this achievement!) I decided to just go for the rockets as a priority - then deliberately lose the battle. Once you have shot all five rockets on the level, and lost the battle twice the game gives you the option to skip that battle while still saving your progress towards the Rocketman achievement.

It's 2022 so I couldn't resist to comment lol. I have NOT run into the glith, however, I have this digitally dowloaded on my Series X. Cool thing is I bought the DLC on Xbox 360 around 2011-ish? (It was awhile ago, not sure of the date). With the DLC's to this game being unable to buy from the market place, for some reason it let me download this one as part of the game. This is very rare for 360 games I've found and anything I want to play on newer xbox's requires the repurchase of those DLC's. Maybe that affected it? Not 100% But it is 2022. Thank you for the guide! I got this achievement finally many moons later lol. :-D

I've followed the reset glitch noted in the above comments, as no counter was appearing for me during the Invasion DLC. As noted, it resets your save data but it has also taken the DLC options off of the main menu.

Is this normal? None of the comments mention this and I don't want to waste my time playing the campaign and campaign+ again, just for the DLC options not to appear.

Can anyone help?

Just a note to people trying to get this: for some, this achievement is glitchy and will not unlock - not even the x/15 will come up when shooting rockets. The solution I used was to go into the options and reset my save; it then worked perfectly. Of course only use this option if you are done with everything else, as it will erase all progress.

I just got mine without trouble... BUT.... be careful, I thought I was glitched. It seems that if you repeat missions it will NOT show a counter if you destroy a rocket that you have previously destroyed! So don't assume its glitched if you get no counters. Try blowing up a rocket you are certain you never got before. But also remember sometimes they are blown up by your turrets in their normal attacks too, so it may have been taken out without your knowledge in the past.

I also suffer from the glitch. Seems like whenever it's possible to have a glitch, I get it!

I've got a theory on the glitch. I played through the Kaiser's Battle, but initially didn't realise there were 5 cubes in each level, so in the first level I only took out one. Played through the other 2 levels with a walkthrough, and then went back to the first. I took out my remaining four cubes and quit once the achievement popped, preventing it form saving my progress.

When I then played Invasion the first time I hit a rocket it showed as 12/15 destroyed, which would be the 11 cubes from KB and the 1 I'd just hit in Invasion. the second one showed no counter, and I thought I'd hit the glitch. I decided to destroy the rest anyway, and the remaining 3 rockets all increased my counter and popped the achievement. I think the entries in the save for which rockets you've destroyed are the same for both DLC's, and anyone who already got them all in the Kaiser's Battle and then saved is stuffed.

I'd suggest when playing through either DLC you deliberately miss one golden object in the first level, then play through the rest to get yourself to 14/15. Replay the first level, take out the one you missed, pop the achievement and then immediately quit. Then when you play the other DLC, just take out the Golden objects in the first level and one of them should pop the achievement.
