Toybox Turbos

Elimination events take place at the end of every cup where you have to defeat a boss to unlock their vehicle. For this achievement you need to beat Hammerhead in Party Panic, the last event in the Public Transport Tear-Up cup.

You need to earn a set number of stars to unlock the elimination race, for instance you need to earn a total of 5 stars to unlock the first boss battle and the you need a total of 12 stars to unlock the second boss battle provided you've beaten Hammerhead first to unlock the second cup. But once you do unlock it you can play the event straightaway if you are eager to unlock the vehicle quickly.

The race itself plays like classic Micro Machines where you score a point if you are so far ahead of your opponent, if your opponent falls off the track or if you destroy your opponent which you can do with weapons like the hammer or machine gun. The loser of the round loses a point. You start off with four points each and the first one to earn eight points wins, so you simply have to score eight points before your opponent to win.

Eventually when a race is not won after a certain number of rounds (I thought it was seven but it seems to vary with each eliminator) a play-off commences and mines are enabled which need to be avoided. When this happens you no longer lose points.
