Oh, it has to be on Treasure Island? I tried it in the build-a-spaceship level and destroyed 2 subs on whale-like-creatures, but nothing happened.

The whales travel clockwise around the island at all times. I tested this twice, if you spawn from the main menu and immediately head for the water where Billz does in the video and travel left (anti clockwise) you will meet them after about a minute every time.

This isn't popping for me. Bumped all 3 both in a sub and in person, no achievement.

I'm being really dumb. Yeah, this doesn't work on the campaign despite the whales also being on that map. You do have to be on treasure Island for it to pop.

Just so everyone knows, the video says 'Sandbox Island' - but when you go into the menu, there are three Sandbox maps, none of which are named 'Sandnox Island'. There's one with no terrain, as well as one called 'Danger Zone' and one named 'Treasure Island.'

You want to use TREASURE ISLAND, that's where the whales are.

Some people might assume - as I did - that Treasure Island is not the one with the whales, because the 'Summer Party' title update has achievements tied to this map, and that it might be too new to be the map for the main-game Moby Dick achievement.

Prep: Put the template plane and the submarine (or non-template, if you've built some) in your transformer. Next: Head to Treasure Island via Single Player, get in your plane and start flying around the island -- don't go far from the island, you don't need to fly out over the sea! Keep looking down for three whales -- two adults and a toddler (I mean, the whale version of a toddler). Fly lower, hold B to go to your transform wheel and pick the submarine, drop in and chase the whales on the surface (it's faster and easier to control). When you catch up to them simply tap one of them with your sub and pop goes this achievement.
