How to unlock the OSD: Planting Roots achievement in Train Sim World 2020 - Definitive Guide
Run a service and save just as you are about to finish it. Go to last played and repeat.
You'll get 500 points each time you finish it.
Main menu to getting back to main menu takes approx 1 min 30, depending on how close to the end of the service you save at
So you'll be getting 1000 every 3 mins roughly
Still a pain, still a grind, but quicker than getting 3000 for a 25 min journey
Edit 1: if you have a series S/X, menu to menu takes less than 20 secs so 1500xp per minute
Edit 2: it unlocks on reaching level 20, not clearing level 20 like some other level based achievements

This will probably be the achievement that's earned on this add-on. It's also an awful lot of work for only 5 gamerscore! To make earning this one a bit quicker go into timetable and select job Y935 Oakville yard switching (doesn't matter which loco you choose, all jobs are the same for both locos. ) It involves breaking up a Rake of autoracks and setting them up in the yard to be loaded. Should take around 40-45 mins overall and I believe is the highest earning job in the timetable with an AP score of around 12000 points. Too avoid the monotony of repeating it continuously I would suggest breaking it up by doing a few runs down the line too.
Nothing against the other 2 solutions, but after doing hours of stop and start scenarios, coupling and uncoupling I wanted something that was less hassle and didn't need to be restarted every 2 minutes.
Level 20 is a long haul. I'm only at Level 9 after doing everything else in this DLC, so this is what I'm doing.
Route G83021-05 Oakville to Aldershot.
This is a non-stop service (with no RED lights) taking wagons from one place to the other.
Set off, after a few minutes you can put the throttle to full and when it gets to 60mph put throttle to 0 and leave it. You'll "Go Via" 2 points, so no need to slow down, then you will hit a 15mph mark for the last 1½ miles.
When I finished this I got around 3,200 AP which isn't bad for no real work (Watched TV or TA) and it only took 25 minutes.
Edit : If you save as soon as you can up the speed you can just quit to menu and select "Last Played" once you finish the run and still get all but 60 of the AP. Makes it even easier to do
