I did the scenario called New York Nuisance (the 1 where you have to rescue a broken down train)

Get the loco all set up and moving, save the game.

It's 3.5 miles to the broken loco, 2.5 at 60mph.

I kept going to the broken loco, coupling up, and bringing it back to where the speed limit drops from 60mph to 15mph, then just quitting to main menu and picking 'last played'

Averaged between 7 and 8 miles each run

If you really want this one while collecting all the AP points then be prepared to put some work in for it! The two scenarios and four services for this loco put you at 48 miles at best so there's going to be some replaying of the available jobs for this loco
