How to unlock the Throwback Thursday achievement in TRANSFORMERS: BATTLEGROUNDS - Definitive Guide

Optimus Prime's default ultimate attack throws an enemy back, causing damage and potential additional damage depending on whether and what that enemy hits when they land. Lining up an attack will show you the damage the enemy will suffer. If that takes them to zero, and you do it on a Thursday, this will unlock the achievement.

NB: this game was released on a Friday and by the weekend this achievement had already been unlocked by some players. Go figure...

They risked offline achievements, which is always dicey.

I’ve tried it several times with different missions, and on different difficulties and using a full throw and the lesser throw with no luck.

Try the mission in act 2 where prime defends bumblebee on Easy. You can axe special attack the guy with 6+ HP to fill your ultimate bar to 50. You can then immediately Throw ultimate and kill the guy with 3 HP.

That’s the mission I’ve gone to every time. I’ve done it at least 6 times and at least twice all the way through. It shows as locked for me still.

Act 3, mission 1. Put the other two in the Energon field, bring Optimus up, then use the Throwback for the kill. I did it against a full health Deception and threw him into Bumblebee, maybe that has something to do with it?

Seems to be fixed for me. Randomly booted the game up since it’s in game pass and it finally popped. Only took a year and a half to complete lol

The main condition for receiving this trophy is “Thursday”. If you start the game on this day and use Optimus's main first ability, the trophy will not be long in coming. Also, if you play on any other day and change the console date to the upcoming Thursday, the trophy will also drop! The most convenient place in the game to get a trophy, mission: "Base Camp"!
