How to unlock the Unlikely Allies achievement in Transformers: War for Cybertron - Definitive Guide

The co-op achievements in this game are a bit on the funny side. First, you must have an XBL session going to be able to co-op. There is no split-screen or LAN co-op available. Second, the developers didn't add a minimum player limit, so you could host a game with just yourself in it and get the co-op achievements. Third, you don't actually have to play an entire level, just reach the end of it. This means you can start at the final checkpoint of a level and just run it, assuming you've already reached the end of one of the levels.

From the main menu:
1. Campaign -> Co-op Campaign -> Host a Game
2. Change Privacy to Invite, Change Scoring to On, Create Game
3. Select Checkpoint 1-10: Dark Energon (assuming you already beat Chapter 1, any other final chapter will do as well), Select your character
4. Start the game and head to the end. A final score screen should pop up after the chapter is complete and your achievements should unlock.

Seraphim is absolutely right, as long as you have co-op on you will get the achievement, even if nobody joins your session. Kinda silly but works out well.

Seems rather odd for this achievement to be unlocked this way. I would imagine that the dev's would've made it so it HAD to be 2+ players. Ah well, it worked, great guide.

When you unlock this achievement it also unlocks the 'Friends to the End' co-op achievement, so I recommend going for this one first.

This achievement is discontinued as the servers are shutdown when going to multiplayer & escalation it says "The Transformers: WFC is not available at this time. Please try again later. Should consider removing this guide & any guides for discontinued achievements.

just complete any level in Rivalry mode. You don't need to beat other players on points, but simply complete the level. this should also earn you the Friends to the End trophy.

To get this and other online trophies, you need to enter 188.225.75.35 and 1.1.1.1 in the DNS section in the network settings and then you will be able to play online.
