How to unlock the Throw Money at It achievement in TRIALS of MANA - Definitive Guide

This I believe is the only missable achievement in the game.

During the second half of Act 1 you'll be asked to find some Nitromyte . Following the story you'll run into Watts. He'll automatically offer it to you for 5000. You can accept the price and you'll unlock the achievement. If you want to save some money, you can decline this price and Watts will lower the price to 3000. Accepting the offer will also unlock the achievement (saving you 2000). The description of the achievement description is misleading.

There's a save point right outside the dwarf village. Easy enough to sell a bunch of stuff in the village, buy the nitromyte then load the save. Should only take 10 minutes this way

This also works on NG+. You should have plenty of money.

You need a minimum of three playthroughs anyway, so while "missable" you have plenty of chances and could get it quickly on a fourth playthrough if you somehow screw it up three times.

Agreed save it for least second playthrough as money is tight and on second its just a lot easier.

You will be able to obtain this trophy once you reach the Dwarf Tunnel part of the game. It is a missable trophy, so be sure to read on. This is shortly after the bridge is blown up by two mini-bosses, and you return to the pier-town to ask questions on an alternate way.

Once you're in the Dwarf Tunnel, you'll first be in the NPC-camp with shops, etc. Take the opportunity here to sell some of your goods as you will need 5000 gold. Around this point in the game, I had 4300. I sold a bunch of Magic Items, and regular items to get 4900, then I begun to run back and forth between areas to kill enemies so I could get more gold.

Once you have 5000 gold, progress past this NPC-camp by talking to people and going beyond the rock-wall that's broken down for you. You'll come across Wyatt as part of your main objective, who will ask for 5000 gold for his nitromyte. You have two options, agreeing, and disagreeing. Not having enough gold/disagreeing will progress in the story, making this trophy missable. So make sure you have 5000, then agree.

If you don't want to sell your items, then make a save when you're in town, sell everything you have, go forward and talk to Wyatt with your amassed sum of gold to get the trophy, then revert back to your previous save.

You don't need 5000. If you don't buy the Nitromyte for the listed price, Watts will lower the price to 3000, and that unlocks the trophy as well. The trophy description is simply misleading/wrong.

*MISSABLE*

Very early in the game you will be sent into the dwarf mines to purchase an item called "nitromyte" to power the cannon that will send you across the sea. When you arrive, the dwarf will ask you to pay 5k lucre to purchase it, but if you decline he'll lower the offer to 3k. So long as you purchase the item at once of those two prices, the achievement will unlock. If you decline again (which you may need to on your first playthrough if you don't have that much money), you will still get the item later after defeating the boss of this dungeon. Since you're playing through the game three times for other achievements, you have three chances at this.
