How to unlock the Treasure Hunter achievement in TRIALS of MANA - Definitive Guide

This is not a exhaustive list of treasures per region, but I want to give share some perspective: there are way more than 200 treasures in the game so you'll be able to get the achievement even if you miss a few. There's no achievement for opening every single treasure.
For reference I got the achievement for opening 100 treasures before finishing Act 2.

When you collect 5 Li'l Cactus as a reward your map displays how many treasures are on the region. It doesn't show where they are, but it tells you how many to look for. I found it helpful for exploring.

The towns and dungeons in this game are very straightfoward, so you should have no issues grabbing all the chests as you go through the story. Once you find 35 of the cactus collectibles (see Cactus Companion (30G)) you will get a perk that allows you to see treasure boxes on the map, as well as how many you've collected in each area. This should help you mop up the rest that you need. You do have to get 200 in a single playthrough, so if you've reached the end of the post-game dungeon, return to some earlier locations to check for missed chests.

There are significantly more than 200 chests in the game, I received the trophy at the beginning of Chapter 5, if you search everything carefully, the trophy will not be long in coming, besides, if you open the skill for 35 cacti, the chests will appear on the map.
