Kill Juanito

Issued an Execution order on a citizen called Juanito

How to unlock the Kill Juanito achievement in Tropico 4 - Definitive Guide

Go into your Almanac (RT+Y) and RB over to the Lists tab. Simply scroll through all of the people on the right page, and hopefully, you'll find a citizen named Juanito. Select him with A and then select the gun target icon (Eliminate). He will be killed soon after, and the achievement will pop.

EDIT: ssdshanky adds that you can rename a citizen "Juanito" and then eliminate him for the achievement. Note that the renamed citizen must be an adult - no killing kiddies in Tropico 4.

EDIT 2: Renaming may be PC-only. If anyone can confirm, please comment.

Do you not need a secret police to be able to issue eliminations? you can thank me later for not marking you down ;-)

you are correct, another decent fix to this game :-) But im with Sp4cey ive looked 3 or 4 times and can never find him, 600 people on your island! Your crazy man, 300 is more than enough!

That sucks, guys - I got him on my first campaign island near the beginning of the mission, only had a few dozen people! Maybe give that a try, it might be a defined name for one of the pre-placed residents.

I noticed that you can filter by country of origin, Juanito is Spanish so this will obviously narrow your search down considerably!

Juanito is NOT only Spanish! My Juanito was a 13 year old Native. Good thing to note is you cannot execute anyone under 14. I watched my 13 Juantio grow up and when he turned 15 I graciously ended his life (his died on his way to his very first job, mining). Also, apparently tropical children age two years in 15ish months.

Took me awhile on this. Didn't see ssdshanky's response. Found him as a toddler and had to wait for him to become an adult.....%*$*

Renaming is possible in the PC version, but not on Xbox 360 I think.

So can you rename the citizens on xbox or not? I have not been able to found a way. People say "click the name". Well that's just fine and dandy since you are not able to select nor click the name on xbox360 version....

Pretty simple achievement really, but adds a touch of humor since the radio announcers keep offering condolences on the death of their "late colleague Juanito". Kind of what everyone wanted to do in the last game as he was very annoying after a while. If you've turned off the radio announcers after Tropico 3 because of him, this is the best reason to turn them back on, even for just a little while.

Entirely luck-based. For three levels in a row I've had 600+ population and there has never been a single Juanito, ever, until today when a toddler appeared with the name. I waited years for him to mature, then, before I could kill him, he left the island. Prick.

Ouch. I didn't have much difficulty finding one, actually had a game with 2 or 3 at once.

Yeah, it's a pain, different chances for everyone I suppose. Just awful luck, but I got it in the end. Pretty cool that you can rename civvies in the PC version anyway.

This was my first achievement in the game after I looked over the list. When I was doing the tutorials for its achievement, Juanito was the very first person that my cursor went over on the first tutorial map. Not sure if that was coincidence or for fact he spawns automatically in the first set of tutorials, but either way you can access him and have him murdered for fun and an achievement..... ++ Not Confirmed ++

1 - From the main menu, choose play
2 - Select tutorial
3 - There are 4 parts to the tutorial. You want to chose part 1/4 of the tutorial. This is the default part of the tutorial screen that loads automatically after you select tutorial.
4 - press A to either start or restart part 1 of 4 of the tutorial
5 - When the game loads, you now have to press A 3 times to get by the 1st three tutorial messages
6 - Now press LT and Y to bring up the almanac
7 - Using LB or RB scroll to the lists tab
8 - On the lists tab, select residents-origin
9 - On the right hand side of the page, you will see Tropico with a total of 60 residents
10 - Press right on the DPAD to cycle through the names of each one of the residents until you find Juanito. Juanito is his 1st name. His last name may vary. (thx Sax89)
11a - If Juanito is not listed, press the start button, and select restart. Then repeat steps 5 through 10 above
11b - If Juanito is listed, press the A button to select him.
12a - If he is a child, in my opinion it is faster to repeat steps 5 - 10, then to wait for him to grow up so that you can select the eliminate option
12b - If Juanito is an adult, using the dpad, select the eliminate option (it costs $500). It is the 4th icon from the left in the second row of icons beneath his name and it looks like a bullseye.
13 - Press A.
14 - You will be prompted "Are you sure you want to issue this order?"
15 - Press A
16 - The soldiers in the palace will now kill him and the achievement will pop.

Note - I have tried this method personally around 15 times. The name Juanito appeared 4 fo the 15 times. 1 of the 4 times Juanito was a child. The other 3 times he was an adult. Once you get the process down (steps 5 -10), it should take no longer than 15 minutes to find an adult Juanito and get the achievement.

Final note - Once you have selected to eliminate Juanito. Set the game speed to its fastest setting. It should only take upto a minute before he is killed and the achievement pops.

Hope this helps

4 Juanitos in 15 games?!? You are a lucky man ;-) I had my first one in the eleventh game...
What I wanted to add is that the citizen is called "Juanito Something". Mine had the name Juanito Fernandez.

WTF! Worked on this over 45min. and no Juanito, lots of other o's though.. Btw your solution is a bit wrong, it's the RT not the LT. I have the Gold Edition, I'm Juandering...if that has anything to do with this?

Here is a video of how simple (yet annoying) it is to find him, its based on luck whether or not a citizen will actually be called juanito unfortunately.

Use the origin lists in the almanac look through the tropicans and the Spanish they seem to be most likely to have a citizen called juanito.

Good luck and enjoy the video.

Have some army men and go to the Almanac -> Lists -> Residents - Origin and keep looking for someone called Juanito. 'Origin' makes looking for him easier, since the name is Spanish/Hebrew. I found him coming from Spain, certain other countries might be possible, too. When you find him, just select him and order your army to kill him.
