How to unlock the The China Card achievement in Tropico 5 - Definitive Guide
Now look for trade routes ( + ) offered by China that you can accept (import routes are easiest because you won't have to produce any goods for those yourself) and assign at least 4 ships to that route (the more ships you assign to the trade route, the faster the trade route will be completed). It will take a while but as soon you completed 5 of these trade routes the trophy will pop.
To complete a trade route you have to either export or import the needed amount of goods within the given time period. This trophy can be a little tricky if you don’t understand how these trade routes work. Bring up the menu for trading routes by holding and pressing . You can start a trade route by assigning a ship to one of the offers given. If you want to export goods, you will obviously have to produce those goods on your own island. The more ships you assign to the trade route, the faster the trade route will be completed. Now follow these steps to obtain the trophy:
- Create a sandbox game, No disasters, No victory points, Unlimited money.
- Build an embassy for China.
- Build a Dry-dock to double all your Dock ship and increase the hull by 50%.
- Build at least 15 Docks.
- Build 2 Appartment buildings, a Subway and Parking lot next to every 3 Docks.
- Build few Teamster offices near your Dock to ship your goods.
- In the Active Trade Route find 5 imports or export with China. Import routes are easier because you don't need to produce goods like you will with export. Quantity means how much you have in stock and the number next to it explains how many you need to ship to China before the end of the contract. Make sure that you produce enough of the given resources or import resources from another countries to supply to China.
- Make sure you Citizens are happy by using the constitution (press R2 + square).
- Don't forget to praise the China as often as possible to get more trade routes.
- Following this method the trophy should be obtained in less than an hour.

The total ships you will need will vary from 15-20. A good exploit is to import and export at the same time the goods. Since the travel time is different, be sure to adjust for that (I used double the ships on the export routes).
Start a sandbox game with unlimited money, modern times era, preferably on an island with lots of beaches to build docks. I had 34 docks when attempting this. Construct an Embassy and invite/praise China. Now check the trade routes. If you do export trade routes, you need to produce matching materials for them to complete! For import routes, you can just take whatever. Regardless, you need to have enough ships on each route to complete it before the time runs out. If the time runs out, the trade route does not count as completed. Once you have completed 5 trade routes, the achievement will unlock.
The easiest way to do this is in Sandbox mode with endless money.
The main thing is to ensure that the chosen contracts do not significantly spoil relations with other countries, otherwise they will come to visit you with weapons and everything will have to start from the beginning.
