How to unlock the Don't Panic! achievement in Tropico 6 - Definitive Guide

This will require a bit of a grind but fortunately, like many Tropico achievements, it can be unlocked in sandbox mode. Start up a new game in Modern Times with unlimited money, and the difficulty turned down if you like.

Quick build a couple solar plants, a few research labs, and the space program. Upgrade everything, max the budgets, and hire foreign workers to fill all slots. Once you have 5,000 Knowledge points saved up, go to the space program and launch a prestige mission. It says it takes one year but on max budget and staff it should only take 240 days.

Once the mission is complete, there is a chance to get a special event. You’ll know it you get it because Penultimo will say something and you’ll get the achievement. Keep running space program prestige missions while quick building whatever you need to keep people happy. Every prestige mission increases approval by 5, so that will help.

It took me about 25 in-game years to finally get the special event, but part of that time was spent setting everything up and I didn’t always start the next mission as quickly as I could have. Just keep those Knowledge points rolling in so you can fire off a new mission every 8 months and you’ll get this eventually. I got it after about 15 missions.

This took me about 90 minutes of spamming rockets. I followed the disaster settings, had a nice stable thing going and it took me about 40 launches or 35 in game years. Almost gave up hope and started over but sure enough it popped!

Does commercial vs prestige missions make a difference?

Great question, but for what it's worth I got it on a commercial mission.

Why do all these guides mention to turn on unlimited money when that cheat disables achievements? This is like the fifth Tropico guide I see do this. Am I missing something or is this just bad information?

I was going to write a solution, but I couldn't have said it any better than this. toast

I noticed I wasn't getting this at all for some reason. I tried it again when I was attempting the sandbox volcano/disaster victory setting and got it after the fourth launch. I think the disaster setting has some effect on how likely it is to trigger this event and setting the disaster frequency to frequent will make it easier to get.

It is necessary to send a mission from the “space program” building to increase prestige. There is no need to do any additional actions. The chance of a special event occurring is far from 100%.

We are building several scientific laboratories, when 5000 knowledge points have accumulated - we are building a space program, in it we click “complete the task for prestige”. With some chance at the end of the task (progress can be viewed in the building itself) a special event will appear and you will receive an achievement. If this does not happen, start the task again
