Hello,
To get this achievement, you need to Harvest from 50 of the new plant types.
This can only be done after the plants you have placed have been fully watered.
The plants will inform you when they can be watered again or are ready to be harvested.
When the plants can be harvested, press
on them.
Some plants will go back into the watering stage and others will be fully destoryed up on harvest.

So this achievement popped for me without planting any of the new plants. Going through topside geode (U8) bombing everything to get ore for the collect ore adventure I must have hit some plants or something.

This was the original way, but I think that you can get it for grabbing Wild Trovian Mana now, per the other solution.
