How to unlock the Bring it to the wrong fight achievement in TUNIC - Definitive Guide
This achievement is missable, as if you grab the sword at the beginning of the game you'll have to start a new playthrough in order to obtain this. If you missed it the first time, or want to get this out of the way as soon as possible, it's relatively quick to speed through to this achievement.
Update: Thanks to caye and FailedSeppuku, here is an even faster video of how to get this achievement from a fresh save. It takes roughly five minutes. I didn't show it in this video, but make sure you turn on No Fail Mode and No Stamina Restrictions in the accessibility settings to make the run easier.
At the start of the game, input this code to get a fire bomb:
Get the stick and use the firebomb on the shrubs to the right of that cave, Straight ahead is a puzzle door. Input this code to open it:
This artifact will let your stick set shrubs on fire. From here, continue towards the East Forest, but this time take the path to the left, setting the greenery aflame. Ahead are some stairs to open a shortcut, buy you want to go just to the right of that and follow the hidden path towards the Fortress. From here you can head up and lower the bridge to the ladders that take you to the Mountain Door. From the other side of the door you can head down the back of the Quarry to where the chest with this item is kept.
Original: Here is a video I recorded from a fresh save showing how to get to the item in question. Even with a few setbacks it only took 13 minutes.
Page 38 of the manual shows a map of The Quarry. In order to access this area, you'll first need the Magic Orb located in The Frog's Domain, which itself is in the northeastern portion of The Ruined Atoll, which is accessed from the southwestern corner of the Overworld.
Normally, the game guides you to the sword by blocking most of your paths with little shrubs that the stick can't break. Instead of using the sword to break them you'll need an enemy to do it for you. Bombs also work for this, but I don't think there is anywhere this early to get them. It is recommended to turn on No Fail in the Accessibility settings as it doesn't disable achievements and it makes running through areas much easier.
After you start the game and get your stick, you'll want to head towards where the key is that leads you to the sword. You can pick it up now if you want, but where you want to head is behind the trees and the waterfall just above where the key is. Follow this path along the mountain edge and into the water as far as you can until you come to a bridge you can push down. You'll probably have to kill the enemies that followed you so you have time to interact with it. Do the same with the second bridge and you're back where the key is.
Now you'll want to rest at the fire to respawn the enemies. Head back over the bridges you pushed down to the first Rudeling you see. Get close enough to get his attention, and then draw him back to where the key is. You'll need him to cut the few shrubs that are between the key and the ladder just below it. The best way to do this is to just corner yourself inbetween them and let the Rudeling hit you. It may take a couple swings to clear enough, but once you do head down the ladder and head southwest.
Follow this path, ignoring the wooden bridge to the left for now, and continue on past the Enovy (big guy with the shield and spear) and take the ladder down to the beach. Follow this down and head southeast once you see the Autobolt. Immediately after this is a clearing with a ladder that leads up to the bridge. It may take some adjuting to get the angle right, but once it says to hit press it and climb up. Follow this path to the Ruined Atoll.
Follow this path until you get to the northern area with several Crabbits. Head up the orange bricks and follow this past a chest. The camera will adjust and reveal a ladder up into the next area, The Frog's Domain.
Keep going down until you get to the frogs in the hot tub and take the hallway to the northwest. From here, there's a couple different paths you can take to the lever that opens the gate. You can ignore most the the enemies on the way there, but again you may need to kill them just to get enough time to flip the switch. The big frogs like to grab you with their tongue as well. Once you get the gate open and get to the big gold doors you'll see a crack in the wall on the right side of the screen. Follow this down and around (ignore the bridge you can lower) and you'll be in the room with the Magic Orb. It's the glowing thing on the dias in the northwest. You should be able to grab it without dealing with any enemies. Once you have it, set it to a button and grapple onto the hook just to the right. If you follow this path it'll take you right back to the entrance. Keep using the grapple until you get to the top, and once you get to the big frog at the top of the ladder head to the bottom left of the screen and outside. Use the grapple to get across, go up and around the stone and grapple back up onto the wall where the fire is. From here, pray (hold ) on the yellow square to teleport you to the hub, and take the in the center right. This gets you back to just below the ladder where the key was.
From here, take the path down and to the left as you did before, but this time go across the wooden bridge we ignored before and up the stairs and around to the left. Here, you'll see an Envoy on a bridge which is normally impossible to pass, but if you stand on the corner that sticks out before the bridge and use the grapple on him then he'll fall to his death and you can get by him. Go up the ladder and follow the path along the mountain to get to The Quarry.
Grapple across to the strange device and hold for a bit until it does it's thing, then grapple back and proceed on. Pray to another device and keep on this path until the purple track ends. You should see a stack of three crates just to the left. If you go just above this, there's a hidden path that leads you down. Keep going down until you get to a single Scavenger mining. It'll be difficult to see with the distortion, but there's a path along the mountain that leads left from there. This takes you to a little shooting range and on a platform to the left is the chest with the item for this achievement.
All this shouldn't take you more than 20-30 minutes from the start of the game. Once you have the item, feel free to head back to the start and grab the sword.

An easier way to clear the bushes etc, if you're happy playing on no fail mode, is to go to the southeast corner of the overworld, just after you go through the first key door towards the sword, and down near the beach is a puzzle door. If you just follow the route with your D-Pad (similar to how you get Secret Treasure #1) I found a sword enhancement tile type thing in there that made my stick set things on fire. This then worked to chop grass and trees down. It puts you to 1HP but with no fail it doesn't matter.

An alternative route is to go and get bombs from the East Forest. I don't know if it's faster, but it worked for me. I was too stubborn to turn on "No Fail".
The bombs are in the chest where the spider ambush you, and at the top of the room that is by the alter/pad that normally requires you to cut the bushes. They can both be accessed through the "hidden" path west of the alter/pad that takes you down via two ladders, past the chest you can see from the alter.
Once you have the bombs (six regular, two fire) you can come back out to the Overworld, blowup/burn the two sets of bushes on either side of the bridge. Going left of the stairs by the shortcut lever grants you access to the path to the Mountain. You can get to the quarry from the top (going past the Door in the Mountain). If you haven't turned on "No Fail", there is a second shortcuts from the Overworld alter that you can open to make repeat attempts easier.

I made a video showing step by step how to get to the place to get the shotgun.
It is recommended to turn on the foolproof and unrestricted power mode.
I recommend doing first of all following the video, and then restarting the game to enjoy the game experience.
Or do it after all, because you already know the stages and paths of the game very well.

*MISSABLE*
For this achievement, you need to obtain the Shotgun before getting the sword. To do this, you essentially need to sequence break the game. There are likely a few ways to do this. Regardless of how you do it, know that it is highly recommended to turn on No Fail mode for this achievement. You'll be venturing into a late-game area to get the Shotgun right from the start of the game, and enemies will be able to kill you extremely quickly. To avoid frustrations, turn on No Fail mode so you can just run past enemies without worrying about dying.
Also worth noting is that, while this achievement can definitely be done right away on your first (and only) playthrough, you'll need to watch a video the whole way through to follow it, since you won't know anything about the game or map layout. This will likely take you a solid half hour. If you wait to do this on a fresh file after doing your 100% playthrough, you'll know the map inside and out, and you can knock out this achievement in around five or so minutes with the first strategy below.
Speaking of strategies, there are a few ways, and I'll show two below. The first is a quicker way that is meant to be done once you know the game from your full playthrough, and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about and where to go. You'll have already traversed these paths before, making it quick and easy. The second method is much longer (relatively; it'll take closer to 20-30 minutes), but has a video guide courtesy of Maka. That method is obviously much better if you want to do this right at the start of your playthrough. Choose whichever you prefer.
Shorter, quicker text method:

Shorter, quicker text method:
- When you gain control of your character, enter the following code on the directional pad to get a free bomb: LUR DRU RDR URD L
- Head up the path and grab the stick in the cave
- Exit and head right toward the bridge leading to the Swamp. You'll run into bushes you can't chop without the sword. Throw your bomb at them to blow them up. Just past them is a line puzzle door. Enter the simple code (DLU RUL) to open the door, and open the middle chest to get the ability card that sets your weapon on fire. Equip it to have a flaming stick at the cost of all of your health (yet another reason to have No Fail turned on). Here's a quick clip of this in case you need a refresher: https://www.xbox.com/play/media/DLK4YC5EJJ
- Now you need to head up to the stairs leading to the top of the mountain. To do this, from the line puzzle door, climb up the three ladders, head left through bushes you'll need to clear out with your flaming stick. Round the corner and you'll reach a staircase. Instead of going up it, go along the right side of it and follow the secret path to an area in the water. Head up to find a bridge you can lower. Cross it, climb up the two ladders, and go left to reach the stairs leading to the top of the mountain. Here's another quick clip to show that route as a refresher: https://www.xbox.com/play/media/8Y3XQTEY2R
- Climb up to the top of the mountain, and when you reach the mountain door, go to the right of it to get to a secret path leading down stairs and into the Quarry. Follow the path down until you reach the chest off to the left. Here's a clip to show the end. https://www.xbox.com/play/media/X5Z64K56MC
- Simply pressing on the chest will unlock this achievement, so don't worry about all the enemies interrupting you
Missable
If you grab the Sword before you get the Gun you will miss this trophy.
Start a new game and turn on No Fail mode to make yourself invincible, you are going to need to use a slime to cut down some trees to make your way to the Old Town, then head to the Ruined Atoll and into the Frog's Domain to grab the Magic Orb. Using the Magic Orb pull the Envoy off the pathway that connects The Overworld to The Quarry and sprint to the chest that contains the gun. You do not actually need to open the chest but just press to start opening it and the game will give you credit. Video below for reference.

There is a faster way. Below are spoilers for the mechanics of the game, so I recommend that you start getting the achievement after finishing it.

Missable trophy. You need to find the gun before you take the sword. In total, you need to run through part of the game with a stick. You can do it right away or in ng, when you are already familiar with the mechanics and the map. Video guide (en) on finding grandfather's rifle bike.

On NG+ the trophy is not made. You need to create a new save file.
