How to unlock the I'm free! achievement in TUNIC - Definitive Guide

The first fairy you can free is by going to the broken golden obelisk in the lower east forest, just past where you are ambushed by spiders. There will be two guards standing by it - usually you would need to travel the entire overworld and piece together the obelisks pattern using memory alone as you can't pick any of the pieces up because it's part of the environment - luckily the solution doesn't change so here it is!

Stand by the broken obelisk and on your D-pad input the code:
Down, Right, Down, Left, Up, Left, Down, Left, Up, Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, Up, Right, Up, Left, Up, Right, Down, Right, Down, Right, Down, Left, Down, Right, Down, Left, Up.

The chest should then spawn, open it and a fairy will fly out and the achievement will pop.

What exactly did freeing these fairies do, other than unlocking an achievement?

There is a cave behind a waterfall in the middle of the overworld which is basically the "fairy cave" after finding 10 hidden Faires you get a booklet page, after 20 fairies you get a "secret treasure" chest to appear in the cave.

Wow.
So we need a guide how to find and unlock at least 10 fairies to assist in completing the book for that achievement.

There's a pink flower directly right of the initial shrine of the starting area. I still don't get how to follow the white flower pattern.

So I know this has nothing to do with the achievement in a way but for some reason it won’t let me use the bed to change the day/night cycle when defeating Heir so I can go and mop up on the manuals and stuff anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

You need to have restored your body to sleep, to restore your body go to the 6 "Here lies the hero" graves around the world and pray to be transported to a room with 6 items each corresponding to one of your stats you gain back as when you're a ghost you reset to default character stats. Once you have your body back then you can sleep.

you can do this in the cave right behind the waterfall on the way to the Dark Tomb entrance. it's DRURURULULURURULDLDLDRDLDRDRUR. you can tell by the maze on the walls, but they're partially hidden so you have to move the screen around and piece it together.

There are multiple pieces of a big golden obelisk with a pattern spread around the map and in the late game you discover that
you would basically need to have a piece of paper and draw the full pattern using the pieces as reference.

An easy fairy to get is after receiving the sword and going to the west. South of the old house there is a green enemy that will drop the key for the old house. Behind him is a ladder going to the beach. After you get off the ladder go south onto the island that has a pink flower and on your d-pad put in: up, right, down, left, down, left, down, left, down, left, up


Additionally, inside of the old house there is a curtain that shows the pattern for a fairy: up, up, right, down, down, right, up, up, right, down, down, down

How did you find the d-pad combination to find the fairy on the island with the flower?

The code is found by starting at the pink flower, then moving up down left and right to each of the white flowers until you reach the top left one. There is only one cardinal move you can make each time.

There are a total of 20 Fairies to rescue for the platinum, for this trophy you only need one. See Spring Falls trophy_silver.png for the location of all fairies.

The first soul is in the old house, you need to stand in front of the tapestry and dial the combination: Up - Up - Right - Down - Down - Right - Up - Up - Right - Down - Down - Down

Free the soul from the chest. There are 20 chests in total in the game.
