When standing next to the fox statues that act as "save" points, if you open your inventory and have a special item (located on the right of your inventory below your potions and hot bar) you can "offer" it by paying a small fee of coins, doing this will increase your stats and unlock the achievement. The items to offer in question can be found in chests scattered about the world.

When you press 
, look in the bottom right corner of the inventory menu. If you have an item in that area, go to a save point and press . Then you can spend currency and the item to upgrade one of your core stats. The first time you do this, the trophy will unlock.

Throughout the game, you'll collect items from chests that can be used to upgrade your stats. These items, when collected, show up on the bottom right right of the 
screen. See screenshot below.
Once you have one of any of them, as well as the required money (typically 100 coins for the first upgrade), go to any fox statue save point and press to pull up your inventory. When you pick up certain items they can be used along with the games currency to level up your stats, press
