I’m pretty sure this achievement is for getting the second ending. After ripping up all the documents you can fight the last boss again and get another ending. The boss literally says “Get nuked!”

I've now done it mtiple times, god mode off and on x3 hit damage, also fought with mayor onion, achievement still hasn't popped after hitting it myself multiple times or when the mayor pressed the button!!!

TA is showing that 500+ players have unlocked this, but I'm to understand those are all on PC? Why would TA be lumping PC players in with Xbox gamers ffs? They should, at all times, be separated for soooo many reasons. Worthless practice.

There was an update that broke the game on Xbox, so they reverted it back to the previous version. No fixed achievements yet

Yup not fixed. Only good thing, if you finished the Game you will afterwards start next to the bunker with the bomb. So when the achievo Bug is fixed it is a very short way to the achievement...

There was a (very small) update when I went to load the game… unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have fixed this bug. Nuke exploded still no achievement 😒

I just ran through the entire game on PC, got to the nuke, hit it... and surprise surprise, nothing happened.

Update for the game today 95mb, was hoping it had the fix. Detonated the nuke and not only did the achievement not pop, it also made the game stop working LOL. Completely inept devs holy shit

Yeah, I'm not getting it unlocked either, even after a fresh reinstall of the game post-patch. Maybe I'll need to start a fresh save file?
Edit: popped for me after another attempt. Not sure why it didn't the first few times, but it's done now!

24.07.2022 - xBox Series X

I was smacking the hell out of the bomb to no avail. Read the comment above and can confirm it works when you turn the player strength back down to 1x and God Mode off.

So press Start, go right to 'game' on the menu, click options, click game again and change them in that menu.

When you load back in from the menu, hit the nuke with the shovel until you die.

FYI, this can still be a bit buggy. I had to do it 3 times before it popped on 7/7/23. So if it doesn't pop for you, just keep trying I guess

The nuke can be found at the very bottom of the greenhouse, which is unlocked as the final dungeon of the game before the final boss.

There are 2 ways the nuke can be detonated. The first as mentioned is by hitting it yourself. The second is if you face Mayor Onion after destroying all the documents, when you defeat him he detonates the nuke and you fight him again in a different form. However, the achievement didn't pop after either event.

Thanks for the cheat part, when I first did it nothing, but the moment I turned it off and went to hit the nuke instant pop up for a moment I thought I was screwed lol 😁

DriedMarlin did you remember to turn god mode off (if you had it on) before hitting the nuke? I thought it was glitched for me when I did it on PC as well but turning it off and then hitting it three times made the nuke explode and my achievement popped.

Make sure you have no multipliers turned on when attacking the nuke, reports show some achievements ding a little while later. Clear cache and try again?

People who came here, like myself, were looking to discover WHEN & WHERE to do this, not how. Nobody said "don't worry, wait until the final chapter, in the last location, when you enter Turnip's house, go down 3 levels and South an area to find the Nuke. Turn off God Mode, you can KEEP 3x damage on btw."

That's all we wanted, y'know, a real guide, nothing special.

Once you enter the tree passageway by Old Lemon, one of the rooms deep underground contains a nuclear bomb. Just hit it three times with your shovel and achievement unlocked.

This room is located south (down) from entering the bunker, then down a couple ladders.

This worked for me (18th Dec 2022) when using my previous full game completion save (except for these two buggy achievements at the time) - I just chose 'continue' from the main menu, then walked back to the starting area. I selected 3x damage and God mode in the game menu options in case I needed it, then used the Tree Portal behind the Old Man Lemon, and went into the underground area. The route to the bomb is:
Left, Left, Down, Ladder (down), Ladder (down), Down.
I then turned off 3x damage and God mode, and hit the bomb three times with my shovel. I died, and I chose 'save and quit', and it went back to the main menu, and after 30 seconds, it popped.

Played through on xbox and got all but the 2 glitched ones. Moved to my pc and played via game pass and it unlocked no problem. So anyone who doesn't want to wait can do that.

Got this on my first playthrough. 3X damage was ON, but god mode was OFF when I attacked the nuke. Continued along as normal when given the option.

Seems glitches. Mafia base, all the way at the bottom of 2 ladders and hitting the nuke 3 times.

Here is my achievement guide, for every single achievement in Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion.
All of the achievements are ordered and have chapters attached in the video.

For this achievement, you will need to beat most of the game, and get into the bunker below your home.

Make your way through a few rooms, until you can go downwards (south) into a room in that direction.
You'll see a staircase, go down it, and then down the next staircase.

Enter the southern room to find a bomb. Punch it three times, blowing yourself up, unlocking the achievement.

When exploring the Secret Mafia Base, go down the shaft to the bottom to find an unexploded nuclear bomb. Use the shovel on it a couple of times, and boom!

At the very end of the game, before the last boss, go down three floors in the dungeon.
There will be a bomb there. Hit her three times.
You can also do it in the post game, the trophy is not missable.
The bomb will not explode if the Settings are set to God Mode.
