Bookworms appear outside your main campus buildings on the grassed/path areas. I suggest zooming right out to see more of the grounds and scrolling left or right until they appear. When they appear simply click on them to collect. You'll get an achievement for both 1 and 50 worms collected. Progress can be monitored within the Career Hub menu in the top right (briefcase). Slowing down or pausing time doesn't appear to effect the worms either!

They're pretty fast so I recommend hovering over an area because I kept missing them when scrolling around. I farm them between academic years as to not burn school time.

You can complete this on the first campus. While playing there will be a worm that pops up and down outside the school campus at random. All you need to do is click on the worm to unlock the achievement. I found mine before the first year ended.

Outside your buildings, you might see a little bookworm emerge from the ground and wiggle. They disappear really quickly, but they also reappear in the same area shortly after (less than a minute later). Simply click on them to "capture" them.
PS: I "captured" a few bookworms in Piazza Lanatra and they didn't count. I got the achievement only in Mitton University.
