How to unlock the A Vault achievement in Ultra Despair Girls - Definitive Guide
The reason this is marked as missable is that like the main Danganronpa games, this is NOT cumulative, meaning you must have 10,000 Monocoins on you at one time. My first playthrough on Genocide difficulty yielded 14,000 coins, so if you spend money as you obtain it you’ll have to do nearly another full playthrough in order to get this. However as stated before in the Roadmap and the guide, the game is easy enough even without upgrades, so saving coins won’t be too damaging to your progress.
On to the actual gaining of coins, they are dropped occasionally by Monokumas on Genocide mode in denominations of 20 (Bronze), 35 (Silver) and 50 (Gold). Bronze are dropped by easier enemies, Silvers occasionally by the harder enemies, and getting a good shot (killing them with a direct shot to the eye) frequently rewards you with a gold coin, which is the best way of gaining coins. Despair mode, the highest difficulty grant you more coins per drop.
There are three skills that increase the rate of coins gained. Raise (Chapter 2), Reraise (Chapter 3 reward) and Super Raise (Chapter 5). If you have all 3 equipped, you will double the number of coins you get. Therefore in a second playthrough, it won’t take as long to gather necessary coins, for this trophy or when collecting coins for the Truth Bullets or Scissor upgrades. You’ll end up needing to accumulate 25k total to get them all (if you quit and reload after buying all of the scissor upgrades). There is also one truth bullet that requires 10k by itself, so if you want to buy that for that trophy, this will unlock while farming coins for it.
The best known farming method can be found below:
"Thanks for the guide. Instead of doing another playthrough, I farmed coins at the beginning of the 4th chapter when you have to follow the kid, but only where the three waves of Siren and normal Monokumas appear. Afterwards you can go back to the save point and then restart the chapter after saving. When you use the Dance Truth Bullet on the Siren Monokuma, all others will be distracted by him and stand still which makes it extremely easy to get a Nice Shot. On Despair difficulty, you get 150 coins with all coin rising Skills equipped for one Nice Shot, so you can get about 2000 coins in about 5 minutes."- AppleKratue
