You can get repair kits either:
- From a machine at Docking stations
- Crafting (day 2 onwards, I believe the blueprint is given to you at your base)
- Whilst looting (fairly rare)
Whilst inside moon you can navigate your items with
and 
on the DPAD.
The repair kit has a blue box icon. Hold
and you'll repair Moon, popping this.

I'm unsure if you have to deliberately damage moon first, if so - crash into anything.
