How to unlock the Familiar with Familiars achievement in UnderMine - Definitive Guide

Level 3 is the max. Your familiar gains 1 exp per gold nugget, regardless of size. It doesn't matter if you pick it up or your familiar does. You can see a meter filling up in your HUD or you can check your inventory to see the exact numerical value of the progress. It goes to level 2 at 200 exp and level 3 at another 800 exp.

Familiar level is reset between runs.

Is Level 3 its max, meaning you need to pick up 1,000 pieces of gold?

You can also make getting him to level 3 faster if you can get your hands on a bottle of Biscuits it Increases the XP i think instead of 1 xp you get 2 xp per gold. But its a temp buff that expires after a small amount of time.

But if you lucky you can find a Cosmic Egg that increases XP gains for the duration of your current run. not 100% sure but if you manage to get both they might stack for X3xp.
