How to unlock the Inner Peace achievement in Unmechanical: Extended - Definitive Guide

This is easiest to do with a long metal beam. Just keep it on your head for 10 seconds and the achievement will unlock immediately.
It's possible to do with a rock, but far more difficult.
Per the suggestion of Krazie x360a, you might want to try the movable mirrors instead. Despite being inside spheres, they do not actually roll around and remain perfectly stationary. You may find it easier to balance these on your head for 10 seconds.

This video from "aka Scratch" demonstrates this achievement with a metal bar that actually touches the floor, though the mirrors in spheres are easier choices.

I had a hard time with the beam myself. I found the movable mirrors later in the game extremely easy to keep balanced.

True. I've edited that in with credit to you. Thanks!

I'm going to try the mirrors. I used a beam and rested on the floor. It didn't seem to matter that one side touched the ground. Video coming tomorrow and you'll see it's clearly not balanced for 10 seconds or it's cumulative which I did not test.

is this glitched? or is there any special requirements, like having to be in the air or something else? i have been standing with one of those mirrorspheres on my head for 30-60 seconds multiple times. with no luck.

I never had any issues. I had one of those mirror spheres and I was in the air. I don't know if that makes a difference as Scratch was on the floor.

I now see that you're on the Recent Winners list, so I guess you got it figured out.

I tried with the beam and had it perfectly balanced on my head for at least 20 seconds, it wasnt like in scratch's video, it was level on my head not touching any other surface and i havent got it, i also tried with one of the ball things that you find piled up on a pipe and didnt get it then either

Just did it with the beam and it has to be cumulative. It was on my head for no longer then 2-3 seconds when it popped.

any way of fixing it if it won't unlock, I've balanced a mirror sphere on my head for several minutes and it won't unlock, really frustrating.

I cannot get this to pop for the life of me. I've balanced several objects on my head for 20+ seconds at a time and it just doesn't unlock

I balanced a beam without it touching anything other than me for 40+ seconds and this bastard achievement didn't pop.

It must be glitched.

I struggled with both a girder and the bucket, but once I got the ability to fly in water I backtracked a little to the bucket and put it in the water to the right and just floated around in the water for a bit. And the achievement popped.

Right, so I MAY have found an incredibly easy way to get this achievement right at the start of the game but I wasn't actually trying to get it, it just popped but I think I know why, I just need someone to test it to see it does work......

In about the second room of the game you have to open a pipe lid and travel down a pipe for the first time. When you get to the bottom you have to push the lid open, now just push it all the way and keep pushing it against the ceiling, that's basically all I was doing and the achievement popped!!

If someone can test and confirm then this might be about to become the easiest achievement in the game! smile

This unlocked for me randomly during the "Extended" episode. Either it really is cumulative (I think something just hit me on the head when it unlocked), or it's buggy. But I'm pretty sure that I balanced stuff on my head for waaay more than 10 seconds in total, so I'm leaning towards buggy.

I got this one while monkeying around with the girder you have to stick through the hole (hehe) to flip the switch and get to the last coal pieces. This was after farting around with the bucket and the girder in the gear room for quite awhile with no success. Weird unlock...but SO glad it finally did.

You could try using a metal beam, but it is way more difficult than using this large ball. Trust me, I tried to do it with a metal beam, but it was simply way too difficult, then I tried it with the ball in the video, and I got it in my first try.

Here is an extra tip to go with the other solutions. I can confirm that you CAN use walls to help you balance whatever item you are trying to balance. In other words, hover next to a wall, then get your item of choice on your head, then let the object lean on said wall while balancing, wait ten seconds, and presto. Much easier!

This is what i did. At the start of the game with the pile of rocks moved them so they would roll on my head and leaned into the wall achievement popped in no time

While searching for the first energy sphere for the giant heart in the level Pacemaker, you will come across a puzzle that requires you to use some small mirrors that are inside of a transparent ball. As these mirrors are part of a puzzle that requires exact placing, the object is very stable, so you can use that for your advantage, making this achievement extremely easy. Watch it:

This is easiest done by balancing the 'pot' that you use to grab water for the puzzle below the coal/furnace puzzle in Chapter 3. Check the video above at timestamp 0:18:22 to see this one.

This may be helpful for anyone struggling with this achievement. After an hour of attempting every online solution I came across for this achievement, I finally found a way to get it to unlock.

Near the beginning of the game, there is a part where you use a rock to block a tube in order to get a red ball to fall out. You then have to remove a load of rocks blocking the red switch (that only the red ball can reach). After using the red ball to turn on the switch to open up the door you have to go downwards through a green laser beam. This laser only lets you through.

I put one of the larger rocks on top of the laser beam and hovered underneath it - balancing the rock on my head. After a few minutes of me trying it unlocked!

I hope this helps anyone struggling with this achievement like I was smile
