How to unlock the Deep Space Transit achievement in Unrailed! - Definitive Guide
This is earned by placing down 4000 pieces of track in 1 game of endless mode. 1 piece of track is 1m. This will take some time, depending on your trains average speed that entire round. If it is 0,250m/s it will take around 4,5 hours to complete this. If the average speed is lower it will take longer and vice versa. Playing solo with the bot, this will take 5-6,5 hours depending on skill. After a checkpoint you can save for the day and continue some other time.
I recommend reading about wagons, biomes and strategy(although some of it is for reaching as far as possible) here: https://unrailed-wiki.com/page/Unrailed!_Wiki
The Xbox tracker for this achievement moves up 25% at a time, so you dont know your exact progress for this. At 25% progress you will get
As higher difficulty give less resources and area to build, this should be done in easy difficulty and I can confirm it works with checkpoints enabled. It will be easier with 1 or more friends but can be done solo with the bot(but he works in mysterious ways, and is not very efficient at times). Higher average speed is possible with more players that are well coordinated.
You can die and save at the previous checkpoint to retry from there. A checkpoint is the first train station you reach in a new biome(which you unlock when you buy a new engine) and it is marked with a save icon. The hardest biome for me where I built the least amount of tracks was Space, because here you need to place down a bridge with iron before using dynamite most of the time, the total amount of materials is lower and it has many gaps where you need to build a bridge for the tracks, watch out for meteors!
You can get this achievement going for a new distance record playing normally, but I unlocked this just before reaching 1250m and the 3rd train station in the Mars biome, and my strategy was simple: collect every single resource on the map and build tracks with it! This means that the train will go up and down alot, and even backwards a bit to give yourself time to collect, build and move your items. At the same time, your train speed will be as low as possible. With more players a higher train speed is easier to manage, so maybe a tweaked version of this strategy is better(not grabbing every single resource but going a longer distance). It depends on the time you are willing to spend vs the teams skill level.
Always give yourself space to move around the train, at least 1 tile( this ensures that you dont block yourself). Use dash() as much as you can to move faster around the map!
I bought a new train engine when the game gave a warning about critical speed, but you can continue with the same engine for longer( I couldnt risk it with the bot). As for wagons used, dynamite is key, you should have 2 as soon as possible. In the snow biome(3rd biome), the light wagon is really useful but after that biome it should be swapped with the collector/supercharger wagon. You dont need more than 1 tank, storage and crafter wagon. I used the transformer wagon to ensure I could always craft tracks even with mainly 1 resource type in the area. With the train snaking around the map, the ghost wagon helped with not getting stuck, but it will be harder to see the different wagons and pick up/place items with it so use what you are comfortable with!
Before reaching a train station you should have atleast 10-15 tracks ready to place down to give yourself some breathing room at the start of the next area. Another tip is to move the tank wagon to the back ASAP, and the crafter wagon right behind the engine for easy access of new tracks. Try to collect as many bolts as you can too, as this will help upgrading the wagons. You should have some to spare for a new engine or a wagon upgrade, try to not waste them.
As an added bonus, this achievement can give you every single "spend 30 minutes in X biome" in the game:
-Plains -Desert -Snow -Hell -Space -Mars
and as it did for me
Good luck!

There is no achievement for 3000m, but your tracker will then be at 75% and you are almost done!As higher difficulty give less resources and area to build, this should be done in easy difficulty and I can confirm it works with checkpoints enabled.
