I did this on Endless Mode. Extreme difficulty.
Can be done quite easily if you focus on gaining bolts quickly by completing the challenges and finding them dotted around. Don't upgrade or buy any new wagons.
Once you have gained 8 bolts just upgrade your train immediately and then on the next station upgrade again. It takes 4 bolts to upgrade the train and twice to get to the winter biome. Good luck!
