How to unlock the Knowledge is power achievement in Valiant Hearts: The Great War - Definitive Guide

This achievement is not particularly difficult and I am certain many will achieve it without trying. Historical facts can be accessed while playing by pressing "Y" (or by going to the Historical Facts tab in the pause menu). Here you will be treated to four or five pictures per level section accompanied by captions, informing you about the war. These vary from information about troop transport trains, the Battle of Marne etc. The ones you have not yet read will feature a white exclamation point flashing in a red hexagon. Simply scroll over them so the hexagon disappears. This counts as having been read.

It should not take long. I have yet to finish Chapter 1 and have already read eight.

*Addendum- The game will even prompt you on occasion with an icon of a book pile and the red hexagon in the upper right of the screen. This indicates new facts to read.

*A2 by Crayon Taster "If anyone else finished the game without getting this achievement I wanted to mention that you don't even need to start each mission again to get this achievement. You can simply go to "Chapters & Collectibles" from the main menu.

Select the chapter, highlight the mission and instead of starting the mission select Collectibles (press Y). I think it defaults to the items, but if you push RB you can read all the historical facts from that menu. It's a breeze to go through to fill in any facts you may have missed. Even if you didn't read any of them during your playthrough you could easily get all 30 in a maybe 10 seconds."

I forgot to read these on my play through but went back and read them afterwards on each chapter.... No need to start again :-)

Like YAT0 above, I forgot as well (luckily it was during the middle of the second chapter!) because the walkthrough didn't particular stress reading them and I thought the books in the corner meant the game was saving. In any event, I'd like to clarify that all you have to do if you forget is to start each mission, hit pause, and read them all and you don't have to replay the mission or anything.

+1 to Crayon Taster's post. Would be great of this could be added to the solution - or even if Crayon added a solution specifically around the method in the comment if you've not read them during your normal playthrough.

This is a very straightforward achievement, and technically requires no skill to get it.

As you start each level, pause the game and from the options menu select Historical Facts. There will often be 2-5 facts with red exclamation marks alongside. Read the article and scroll down to the next one to read it. When the red exclamation marks have gone, they are treated as read.

Do this every level and by the time you start Ypres (Mission 4) in Chapter 2, this will unlock.

Throughout the game you are presented with the option to read about an historical fact. You hit options and you can read all the ones you have earned on whichever chapter you are on. You only have to read about 30 of them. At any time on any Chapter, hit the options () button and select Historical Facts. You don't have to fully read them, just make sure they are marked as read. You'll have enough facts to read sometime during Ypres in Chapter 2. You can also read them all from the Chapter select menu, just select a Chapter and level and hit triangle for collectibles and tab to the historical facts.

At the beginning of each mission, open historical facts by clicking on , you need to read 30 pieces for the trophy. We'll get it closer to the middle of the game. Also use the game guide , where everything is described by chapter and all trophies, or this playlist on YouTube.
