How to unlock the Friendship Commemoration Medal achievement in Valkyria Revolution - Definitive Guide

I've been gaining some progress on this. I thought I'd reveal what I know as I go along. If you've got anything to add, feel free to say so in the comments!

Community Circles are unlocked when you first enter the Promenade. You'll be prompted to talk to the Girls Only circle at the cafe, though they may not always have an event (I've hit this point twice - once it did, once it did not).

First, except for the last group, Circles are random. Circles will appear randomly after each mission, whether it be free or story. There is a red exclamation mark if a circle is meeting which you can find in the Circle menu (press cn_back, bottom option). You don't need to discover a circle for the exclamation to appear, though it is possible to find them with no events available (and you often will). Here are the circle's I've found so far.

Girls Only
Location: Promenade (Andersen's Cafe)
Members: Helena, Ophelia, Brigitte, Sara, Tilda

Customer Services
Location: Promenade (In front of tailor)
Members: Blum, Isaak, Helena, Brigitte

Master Chefs
Location: Promenade (South east corner)
Members: Ophelia, Blum, Daryl, Helena, Jordur

Bookworms
Locations: Promenade (Right at entrance, across from book store)
Members: Brigitte, Ophelia, Isaak, Tilda

Art Aficionados
Locations: Promenade (Far north, past cafe)
Members: Isaak, Blum, Daryl, Sara, Jordur

Family Matters
Location: Promenade (Near the big obelisk at the center)
Members: Jordur, Blum, Sara, Tilda

Fashion Friends
Location: Promenade (Southern Bridge)
Members: Sara, Ophelia, Isaak, Daryl, Helena

Patriots
Location: Promenade (East of center, near giant castle)
Members: Godot, Ophelia, Jordur, Daryl

Male Sensibilities
Location: The Bumbling Bard (Back table)
Members: Daryl, Jordur, Isaak, Blum

Weapon Lovers
Location: Headquarters
Members: Tilda, Jordur, Helena, Brigitte, Sara

The final circle is special. These unlock after certain story events. It's very possible they are missable. As long as you check your Circles after every mission, you won't miss anything.

Childhood Friends
Location: Various locations (See below)
Members: Amleth, Basil, Violette, Fritte, Solomon
Events:
- Intimate Knowledge (speak with Basil on the East side of the Promenade)
- Amleth's Amore (speak with Violette in the Bumbling Bard)
- A Long Time Ago... (speak with Fritte on the East side of the Promenade)
- Of One Mind (speak with Solomon in the Royal Cemetery)

Keep in mind that even if a Circle appears, it may not necessarily have a new event (even if you've never discovered an event for it). Sometimes they meet with no event. Once you find them all once, just keep checking after every mission for that exclamation.

You might want to fix your your circles are random bit. Even if you haven't discovered that circle it'll give you a red exclamation point saying one is going down. That's how it's been with me everytime.

Haven't ran into the circle event happening and not being an event. Maybe I'm not far enough into the game. I have some you don't have and will gladly share it with you when I'm home from work. Ones about cooking and ones about manly men at the bar laugh

Edit: Nvm you do have the bar one. Whoops haha

Clarified. And yeah I'm positive they can meet without an event. That's how I know the location/name of some without actually having an event.

What chapter do you get the last event for the Childhood Friends? There is 4 events possible, you only have the three.

I've been looking around different places before I go to the HQ. And I can't find any new circles or events. What I am missing??

Maybe there isn't one. Go do a mission and try again.

FYI too, that retreating does reset Circle spawns (ie can be exploited to speed things up); however, if the hub world's become desaturated and gray, stop disengaging or failing

Was able to get this after I completed the game.

Just kept doing free missions to farm money and ragnite.

Sol appeared after I beat the random Valkyria that appears at night and Violette appeared 1 mission later after doing a internal team battle mission if that helps.

This is technically missable, correct? A character perma-deathing cannot be brought back, meaning the only way to obtain the community events they're involved in, is NG, or NG+.

My personal method to this (having potentially missed the 'missable' section above), I went into New Game+ and farmed the first free mission (Special Squad Mission, where you fight four of your ops) in Chapter 2; going into New Game+ does reset all Circles,. Once completed, which should take 20 secs per run since you will be overleveled, patrol Promenade (if no HQ proc) for a Circle; I found that you get only one Circle per mission reset (sometimes zero), so if you get one in Promenade you do not need to check anywhere else. This took about three hours to focus fire, but I felt it was effective if you think you messed up somehow in your first playthrough. Finally, I ended with only needing Fritte and Violette's events, which I got by playing the story a bit and checking their spawns; Circles appeared in Chapter 4. Good luck and don't give up on this achievement, you can do it (or at least that is what I told myself).

I dont have this achievement yet, but as of chapter 5 i have all the circles completed but still no achievement, so it refers to more than that.

A trick for getting the majority of the circles is after every mission, both free or story, go into the character menu and go to the circles options. It will tell you if there is a new one without needing to leave the HQ, even if you have not found the circle yet. All of the circles are in the promenade, save for one, which is in the bar. I was getting a new circle 75% of the time after any missions, so this went pretty fast for me

If you do this from right when circles are available you will easily get them during your playthrough

EDIT: as of chapter 6, an additional 2 events become available for one of the circles

Community events are short conversations with your soldiers that have a chance to trigger after each mission (no matter which type - Battle, Free, or Story). There is no set order that these will unlock in, nor any way to guarantee one triggers. After each mission, hit the Back button and choose the "Circles" option to check if any are active - these will have a red exclamation point (!) next to them. All of the Circles are found in the Promenade, except the bottom three: Male Sensibilities (The Bumbling Bard), Weapon Lovers (Headquarters), and Childhood Friends (various - two are in the Promenade, one in the Bard, and one in the Cemetery). Just go find the group of people and speak with them to view the short scene.

These will continue to trigger after the story is over, and you should get them all while working on grinding out 100 Free missions. Just remember to check after each mission to see if a new event is available. Once you have filled out all the empty slots (marked by "???" under each heading), the achievement will unlock.

After completing the tasks, see the Cycles menu item. If you notice an exclamation mark, then look for locations in the city where you can listen to squad members and get priority for it. After this, you can complete another free mission and a new dialogue may appear. If after completing the free mission nothing new appears, then move forward in the story.
