How to unlock the Royal Army Defense Cross achievement in Valkyria Revolution - Definitive Guide

The first time you'll face a defensive battle will be at the start of Chapter 3. There's no really difference with any regular battle you fight, you'll just have a base to defend whilst also taking over the other bases around you to get the enemy commander to appear. The maps these take place on a relatively small so defending your own base isn't too much of a challenge. This should come naturally as you progress through the 100 free missions unless you purposely avoid doing any battles at all.

You can actually get this as early as Chapter 2. I got it by repeating a free mission twice just before the story mission "Operation Avalune Liberation."

A defensive battle is considered one where the word "Defend" is in the title of the mission. These will always be of the "Battle" variety marked with a red icon (not Story or Free missions). Simply complete any of them to unlock the achievement.

Common missions with the title Defend+territory name. In some cases, participation in them is not necessary and the army itself can win. In other cases, you will have to participate in the task if you do not want to lose the region.
The fewer regions you have, the worse the mood of the city. The worse the quality of the equipment parts produced. There is also no merchant selling the best materials.
