How to unlock the Hail Mary achievement in Vampyr - Definitive Guide

If you've been eating people and levelling up a lot, this shouldn't be much of an issue, but for you pacifists out there... oh boy.

Mary can be a challenge, her melee attacks hit like a truck and she has a couple of AOEs; One where she vomits on the ground and spawns blood bubbles that explode and do damage to you if you're close, and another where she bangs her cross down and screams.. AVOID THIS as it does MAJOR damage.

There is also an NPC here that she will feed on once you damage her enough, now you can avoid this by feeding on him yourself but in case you're going full pacifist I recommend damaging her enough with basic attacks until she feeds, then bring out the heavy attacks such as your ultimate, specials and blasting her with every bullet you have.

Bring plenty of healing items as stunning her to bite can be risky and any time you get close you will want to be dealing maximum damage instead of chipping her with stun damage.

EXPLOIT: If you are doing a pacifist run and feel too weak against her, there is an exploit you can do by plugging a USB keyboard into your console, going to a bed to level up, select ANY power and whilst in that powers tree hold down the P key on your keyboard which will give you INFINITE XP... With this you can level up as much as you want freely without having to kill any NPCs.

Good luck out there, and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Thumbs down, the exploit doesn't work unless you have the disc version of this game to play offline without the current patch. You need to update that.

Attitude is right, this fight is very tough. The best way I was able to get her health down is to use your firearms on her first to keep her away. That way you can chip away at her health and then once she feeds you can get closer and really fight it out. Make sure to have enough health and blood serums so you can heal and get your blood gauge up without having to bite her. Happy Hunting.

There's actually a pretty simple way to kill this boss even if you are doing a 'Not Even Once' run. I would recommend getting the Abyss ultimate ability before the fight. She has pretty long range and a few really powerful AoE attacks, but if you are sprinting you can actually avoid basically everything she dishes out at you without problems.

Wait until your ultimate is charged then use it against her which should suspend her in the air for a few seconds, doing really good amounts of damage and giving you a few seconds to get in close and hit/shoot her a few times as well. Depending on what level your ult is at (
) you should be able to rinse and repeat this process five or six times and have finished the fight.

-( Story related, cannot be missed )-

Chapter III

Ah, the elusive mistress of night turns out to be our departed sister, turned unknowingly by our own fangs. She bears malice towards you and seeks to take it out on you in spades. The fight will be no different from any other in regards to dodging being your savior; that being said, Mary herself is a potent enemy, born of your blood much like you were born of your Maker's.

She will lead up with a simple one-two or one-two-three combo with her cross, which can build up if she does it enough times. Wait for her by strafing to the sides, dodging as you can, to evade her attacks and go in for only two to three hits at a time. With enough damage dealt, she may do one of two attacks after a fourth to a fifth of her health has been depleted:
1) She might do a bestial roar (akin to Fergal's, but much more potent and larger) if you're near her, so keep your distance if she stops in one place and shakes.
2) She might vomit onto the ground and create blister patches. These take a few seconds to form, then a bit longer to explode, causing blood damage in a large field and lingering for a bit afterwards.

Either of these can be life-shattering, so be aware of your surroundings if you can and try to use her and your dodging ability to destroy the tombstones, making it easier to keep your distance. One major note: the priest is still alive in the beginning of the fight. If you do too much damage to her, she will shift to his side and feast off of him, giving her a full heal, so if you don't want this fight to last longer then necessary, you might want to eat him first. Don't worry, as he is not one of the vital lives you have to spare for the "Not Even Once" trophy, so lap away at his life-giving essence.

Normally, her blister patches will form in a 3x3 grid when she starts using that mechanic, but later on, she may form some in irregular formations. Safe zones from the blisters might not so safe from her attacks. I figured I'd let you be aware of that.

After the fight, you will commit her back to the grave and this trophy will pop before that point.
