How to unlock the London's burning achievement in Vampyr - Definitive Guide

Just a word of advise for those looking to snag this. Pillars of the community bring down the meter the fastest, although killing off lower civilians works just the same. In order for the district to fully be considered hostile though you need to get the newspaper article on the fall of that particular district. You can simply rest enough days in a row for the people to die of their ailments--that works just fine.

I suggest pairing this with collecting all of the weapons / collectibles so that you can clear out a district, kill off civilians, and then turn it hostile by resting in the end. This also works great when going for:
VampyrUnlife is strangeThe Unlife is strange achievement in Vampyr worth 70 pointsSave this poor plant with water

A few tips from AgentOfAbyss:
1. You MUST deal will all pillars. Mine finally popped after dealing with the final one (Hospital). Embracing them is best of course.
2. The color in the menu changes once the game recognizes a district as hostile. Again I had the hospital at 35%, but the color didn't change until I dealt the the pillar and slept. I did not get all newspapers, but once all four colors greyed out I popped the achievement.
3. Sleeping multiple days in a row without killing anyone doesn't do much. Just kill everyone and then sleep once.

Edit:
Other TA users claim to have unlocked the achievement without dealing with all pillars.

This achievement will not unlock for me. I've gotten every district to under 50% and nothing is working.

Have you killed off all of the main characters and then slept?

I have killed everyone yes. I have every district as hostile (all of them are at 0-5%, and Pembroke is stuck at 32% since I didn’t kill or embrace Swansea). I think it’s an issue with the game not recognizing that I’ve turned a district hostile as the tracker says I only have 3/4 but the in game menu says everything is hostile. I’ve also seen the newspaper clippings for every district.

Hmm that's strange. May want to submit a bug report.

I had two hostile, with their newspapers. I got the last weapon I needed, and did as you said, rested enough days in a row for people to die of their ailments. It worked in one of the districts, but in the other, the Pillar went missing, the gauge dropped to zero, and no newspaper. So sleeping until they die just cost me this last achievement...

It seems more of a bug or glitch in the system than a fault in my recommendation. Sorry to hear about that Raistlin.

I’ve not had much luck with this, done 2 plathroughs now, and one district has gone hostile quickly due to the pillar going missing or turning mad, then it’s gone to 0 while trying to get the others hostile.

I truthfully think something is glitched with it. A lot of people have been having issues with consistency.

I read somewhere online that you HAVE to deal with the pillar before the district will go fully hostile. Unsure if true because I got the West End hostile before Docks even though everyone in Docks is dead.

I have twice now tried to collect all items and turn all districts hostile in the same playthrough and I seem to hit a snag. If I must deal with the pillars, I kill Sean. I am only mesmerize level 3 and cannot embrace some of the dock citizens, but after resting the entire district dies thus locking me out of collecting Booker's Axe. Anyone have any ideas? I've found other "dead" NPCs as enemies to fight, but cannot find Booker or any of the residents of the Docks after killing Sean.

That's strange Faustus. Is there a certain percentage it is stuck on? My other suggestion would be story related and pushing further toward the end of the storyline.

I want to point out that I only dealt with one pillar and got the achievement, so there might have been an update that makes it possible to do this without killing all the pillars. I can not confirm though.

I had three pillars alive, one dead and managed to get the achievement by just embracing some of the citizens. Perhaps the solution can be updated to reflect the experience of myself and those above.

Updated to say what exactly? That people have unlocked the achievement with different experiences?

To be honest Deaf it seems to be all over the place. May want to talk to everyone to be safe, but judging by the comments, it may not even matter.

I didn't do anything to the pillars other than the story stuff. I embraced almost all the civs and it popped. It seems them getting sick even in a critical state only reduced their XP value.

Been sleeping for 20+ nights but nothing changed in the past 10 nights or so. Can't embrace the other two pillars. Probably need to kill every single citizen then.

Yeah I think I got very unlucky. 1st playthrough I charmed Dorothy Crane and she went mad and made it hostile very quickly. My 3rd playthrough I tried speed running it and didn’t have enough hints to turn Sean back and he then went missing and caused the district to go hostile quickly.

Not sure if I can find it, but I just popped this yesterday and have some tips to add to the guide.

2. The color in the menu changes once the game recognizes a district as hostile. Again I had the hospital at 35%, but the color didn't change until I dealt the the pillar and slept. I did not get all newspapers, but once all four colors greyed out I popped the achievement.

You definitely can get all collectibles and all districts hostile in the same play through because I just did. I followed this guide to get the collectibles done:

http://www.powerpyx.com/vampyr-all-weapons-collectibles-loca...

I picked all the spare or let die options until chapter six where I embraced everyone necessary for the weapons and collectibles. After resting, two of the four districts went hostile. To get the others in the same state I ended up embracing all remaining citizens. Only Dorothy Crane remains alive as there doesn't seem to be an option to embrace her if you spared her initially. I got the newspaper reports and they're all at 0% now.

This achievement is pretty simple to get, you have to embrace at least 5 or more people to turn districts to hostile status. Don't forget to rest after you're done embracing people.

Pembroke Hospital
The Docks
WhiteChapel
West End

You will see articles about that district when you woke up.

A full spread trophy compared to:
VampyrAnarchy in the UKThe Anarchy in the UK trophy in Vampyr worth 61 pointsTurn a district to hostile status

Described within the previous trophy, you must turn every district Hostile with no hope of recovery. While it might reach Hostile status from everyone being gravely ill, you can easily cure them of their ailments with enough placebos and syrup. No, in order to retain the hostility, you must feed and Embrace the citizens enough to disrupt the entire foundation! Given you will need to Embrace a few for some of their weapons for the weapon trophies, this would be better done if you went for it with a backup save just prior to you starting all of this. It will void Not even once, which requires you not to harm a soul maliciously. Furthermore, to turn them hostile, you must sleep a day in a hideout to shift the tidings of London in your disruptive favor.

First play on Story, do all collectable's and all embracings, then on normal for the no citizen task?

@KGI_KlikoNL You can, or you could just make a save prior to changing every district hostile, get the trophy, and then reload prior to that. I would suggest that instead, as another playthrough would make it a bit longer than needed unless you are truly enjoying the game. I found it harder than desired by not eating people.

Make sure you do not try for this achievement before you have gotten all the collectibles. Turning a district hostile causes all named NPCs to die, and you will not be able to get their collectibles since that requires you to kill (embrace) them yourself. Health status for the districts only updates when you sleep, so be sure to run through all the collectibles in one night to avoid making a district hostile and risk NPCs you still need to die on their own.

Once you have obtained all collectibles, feel free to sleep for a night. Since you've killed a number of citizens, at least one district should turn hostile immediately (the Docks). Personally, my other three districts were all 50-55% so I killed three more people in each district (just to be safe) and upon sleeping a second time, they all dropped below 50% and the achievement unlocked.

To turn a district hostile, you will have to get it below 50% into the “hostile” health status and mesmerise and embrace at least one NPC. You can check the status of a district in the Citizen Menu. This will be followed up by a newsletter, along with massive amounts of people in the district dying when you sleep. Not curing people's illnesses, killing NPCs, and certain choices you make in the main quests will have negative effects and drop the percentages of the districts. You must sleep in order for the percentage to change.

This is best done with the trophy Lore keeper, as you will have to kill multiple citizens from each district, which will grant you the hostile status of all the districts for this trophy. Plus, if a district turns hostile before you gather all the collectables from it, they will be unobtainable.

What you need to do is make sure that the area falls, that is, kill everyone. The easiest thing to do is when you choose the fate of Aloysius Dawnson, if you turn him, then all the citizens will get sick the next night. Sleep for two nights, kill one citizen, sleep some more, and so on in each district, over time the districts will fall and you will receive the achievement.
