This is one of the hardest medal to get. The AI is just too good. You don't only need a really good run, you need two consecutive good runs. You will need about 2:00 over two runs to get this.
Here is how I did it. You will probably have to experiment to find your own way, but that may be a good place to start.
Get an awesome start. Personally I held down RT the whole descent. That gave me too much speed which I lowered by carving (LT) in a lot of the turns. I also, I carved at the start of the turns, since that give you more time to adjust your trajectory for the following gate. Also, if you are going to miss a gate, miss it in such a way the other gate is easy to get. Since you are not going too fast, you are not losing too much speed when you miss a gate.
So yeah, this is hard. You'll need some patience or luck or skill to get it.

I will certainly second that you can carve a hell of a lot and still have plenty of time if you hit all the gates. Make sure to hit every gate by whatever means you need, and you'll be fast enough... I beat this in 1:58.45 with 1.5 seconds to spare, with RT clamped down all the way and a lot of carving.

Choose the event Ladies' Slalom. This event requires you to move back and forth through the gates until you reach the finish line. The key to this event is to hold the 
whenever possible, and carve with 
whenever you are close to the gate. Only loosen up on when things get too fast. You are also required to complete two runs on the course, with your overall time being the final result. Staying close to the gates and maintaining a high speed will net you this easily.

Stupidly frustrating cheevo to get, but relieving when you do get it. To pop this, it needs to be a PERFECT run, as in 95 Launch and Speed at the start, no hitting pylons and not drifting out into the snow outside the blue lines. I did it with
slammed down as far as it would go the whole time and didn't bother with Carving. Just blitz it down the hill and you'll be fine, but keep a keen eye on the track, memorizing it is seriously useful when you finish in 2nd after you've been overtaken for the dozenth time by someone coming in out of nowhere.
