The most important part of ski-cross is the start. If you start in first and don't miss any jump, you will most likely finish in first place. What is fun in ski cross is the fact you can actually see your opponent and know if you are first or not and by how much. That also gives you the possibility to shove your opponents out of the track *ahem*.
