How to unlock the Smashing Snowmen achievement in Vancouver 2010 - Definitive Guide

The snowmen are a trap. Find a way to do the race as fast as you can, then go back and see which snowmen fit into your quickest route. It's not hard to get 8. About two thirds of the way through the race there's a sharp turn at the bottom of a big hill. take your finger off right trigger for the next five or six gates at this point. I couldn't steer through it in the crouch. On the home stretch you have to squeeze just inside the gate for the last few to maintain a straightish line and finish in time.

This is one of the hardest challenges of the game. You have 1:36 to get to the bottom while destroying 10 snowmen. The biggest problem here is if you don't get a flawless run, you won't make it to the bottom of the slope even if you don't try to destroy snowmen.

There is 20 snowmen on the course. At least you have some leeway on which one to destroy. I also noticed that near the end, the snowmen are easier to reach.

I would not recommend trying to get snowmen out of your way. You don't have the time to do so. Simply take the ones in your path. Also, I would recommend going into first-person mode (by pressing B). That way, your body won't hide the incoming snowmen.

This will definitely take a lot of your time. Persevere, and try to find the best snowmen to destroy while not losing much time.

It only took me a few tries to get this achievement. Be sure to take the inside track to make your run is as fast as possible. Worry about your time and not the snowmen. Many of them will be in your path already on your way down.

My advice is to do a run through getting just the easy snowmen. This will allow you to make sure you have the time down, as well as to see how many extra snowmen you need to pick up along the way. After my second run I finish in time, but with only 8 snowmen. There are two at the very bottom of the course that are easy to pick up if you need some towards the end. Going out of your way for more than 1 or 2 snowmen will result in your time being too slow.

You must complete a Men's Super-G run within the target time of 1:35.00, and while doing so, smash at least 10 snowmen. Failing to hit 10 snowmen results in disqualification. This is a very difficult challenge that has little room for error. Nail a great run, better than the gold medal one, and hit snowmen on YOUR PATH, don't go out of the way for them. By the end of the race, there should have been enough snowmen to hit on the course by you not losing control and going out of the way, where some snowmen are in fact placed.
