Don't listen to what the challenge description tells you and do not hold RT. You will lose some points (not that much) and it will make the navigation a lot easier. You shouldn't need to use as much LT to carve either, as you will have more time to turn.
Simply get to the bottom of the slope, while using LT the less you can and not missing any gate. The AI is pretty slow, so that gives you a chance.
